Hi guys,

have anyone heard from either Trinity or Caius and Gonville?

I was notified by the faculty of Law late April and still waiting for my package, is this normal?

H

I heard from Caius a while back, but I'm not sure what the deadlines are for colleges to make decisions, so my having heard doesn't necessarily mean that you won't hear from them.

I think there was some discussion of timing between email notification from faculty/BGS and receipt of formal packages by post in another forum back in April (it has since petered out), but the short answer is there can be quite a delay (a month or more) between notification and receipt of the formal package in the mail, so I wouldn't worry too much. Indeed, if memory serves, the package isn't likely to include much you won't already know.

Practically neighbours then! Funding responses have been patchy. I haven't heard from Cambridge Trusts (has anyone out there?). I am at Caius and received the Tapp. I didn't apply for too much else - I heard from the CBA re: Viscount Bennett and the Commonwealth, but that's about it.

thanks for the info. I havent heard anything about the trusts either.
do I understand your post to say that you were unsuccessful re bennett and comonwealth ?
Do you mind sharing a little about your credentials? Im wondering how difficult the tapp, commonwealth and bennett scholarships are. Obviously you are a strong candidate, I guess i just wonder what it takes to get the tapp and to not get the other two.
quid pro quo: i have two years of work experience at a big firm, a summer research position, law review, 5 or so prizes, and graduated inside the top ten percent of my llb. First calss honours undergrad BA as well. you?

I've tried to send you a PM, but system seems a bit fussy today. In terms of results, I put a very last-minute application in for the commonwealth and was not successful. I was shortlisted for the Bennett, but, having accepted the Tapp, I apparently (and disppointingly) became ineligible for the award. I didn't really have time to apply to much beyond that, so can't provide much insight otherwise.

Like you, I have practiced for two years (plus articling) at a large firm doing mainly M&A work. I did a combined business and law degree - finished first in my law class and dean's list on the business side of things. Undergrad was dean's list/with distinction etc. In terms of extra-curriculars, I also researched for a summer, but generally kept to non-law activities (student politics, buiness TA, uni sports).

Hi, I was just wondering if somebody else is accepted in Trinity Hall. My Camsis shows this one as my college (for almost a month or so), but I haven't received anything either by mail or e-mail. Is it a common situation, or should I contact the Board of Graduate Studies? Thanks for any advice.

Hey there, I am an LLM about to leave Cambridge. It is most probable that your college will house you off campus and that you will need a bike to move around the area, also take my advice prices rise for buying a bike at begining of Michaelmas term. I own a bike in excellent conditions and am looking for a potential buyer. Any one interested?

Hej,
I'm in TitHall as well. It's supposed to be a great college. A friend of mine has studied there this year as LL.M.-student and still enjoys the whole atmosphere. Check out http://www-mcr.trinhall.cam.ac.uk/ where you will get the best information about the hall.
And BTW irsishguy: Trinity Hall is older than Trinity College. :)
Cheers

Hi. I was also offered a place at Darwin College. Have you heard anything about housing accomodations? Are we guaranteed a place in the college? I surfed their page but found nothing... also I wrote them an email, and no response.

Let me know if you hear anything.. I'll keep you posted as well.

Federica1:

Hi!

I received a letter from Darwin College last Friday. The College requested from me to fill an "acceptamce slip" and a "request form for accommodation". This form informed me that the allocation of rooms will take place during the first week of September 2007 and we will be notified in writing by the Accommodation Office only when this occured. The latter form also requested to write when I plan to arrive at Darwin College (we can choose between 26 Sept to 28 September ; no accommodation will be available before 26 Sept.).

http://www.dar.cam.ac.uk/toplevel/facilities.shtml : "Darwin is able to provide accommodation for many current students". This (probably) means that College offer doesn't entail College accommodation for all. However, I am not sure!! I sent an e-mail with regard to this matter but I haven't received any response yet.

Where are you from? I am from Greece.

Best wishes

Hey,

as far as I can remember I was told by the BGS that every LL.M. student will get accomondation from his college, especially if the student is from abroad.

b.t.w. I still haven`t received any offer from a college!

kind regards
