Hey all! I’ve seen all the rejection posts and I want to say to all that were rejected — it’s okay and it definitely doesn’t mean that you’re not enough.

to bring an example, my boyfriend that graduated 1st out of 300 people and had also many other achievements under his belt, got rejected the first time he applied both by oxbridge and Harvard. He was wondering all the same things as all of you - and the thing is you couldn’t have done something more, because you are enough, it just wasn’t your year.
Next year he reapplied and got accepted, with a scholarship as well. 
So don’t take it personally for sure - it’s definitely a whole lot of luck that goes into the process.
it’s not worth it to stress over it, it’s just a university, and even being to able to apply is a big privilege.

I was just rejected too.  Graduated with a solid first, top 5% of my law school, excellent references from well-known academics I worked with closely, work as a judge's clerk, then two years of work in a leading firm, plus ongoing work as a part-time academic tutor at a university.  Community involvement too, and the odd publication here and there.  In many ways, I feel like there is little more that I could have done to get a place.  

Naturally, I'm very disappointed - but of course it is always a bit of a gamble and so we can't be too despairing.  We live in strange times, especially with covid affecting everything.

I was also rejected - Dutch uni, GPA way above what was expected, top 5% of the class, internships at international law firms, and a recommendation from a Cambridge professor who taught me during my exchange

Congrats! Was your app transferred to GAO for approval before you did?

I have no idea unfortunately - I left the application as it is, and lo behold an email on the 12th February.

My LLM application is currently still under review by the department, but my MCL application just changed from 'awaiting approval by GAO' to 'awaiting approval by PAO'. I checked online, but could not find why this happened. Does anybody know what this means? My status was on GAO since February 17th. I  don't want to bother the admissions office, I'm certain that they're absolutely swamped dealing with the admissions themselves without answering unnecessary emails at the same time. If it helps, I'm an international applicant from Belgium.
