Thanks, Themis
Did the admission office reply you soon after you sent them enquiry e-mail?
Although I asked UCL and KCL regarding my application status, both schools didn't answer to me (but finally I was admitted to both schools).

Hi Shiv
Yes I have only applied to Columbia, Cornell, HLS and I regret a little I havenât tried NYU⦠I would kill to be in NYCity next year! It was quite difficult to choose which school to apply to relying only on the internet (and I couldnât afford to apply to all of them!) But Iâm more than happy with Cornell actually, it seems to me that its reputation is stronger than NYU, (is it for competition law?), itâs Ivy League, itâs for sure well-known in France and I like the fact that Cornell is opened to Europe.
Anyway, thanks for your help. If thereâs anything I can do⦠Practice your French go ahead! Iâll tell you when I receive news from Oxford and Cambridge (and others ;-) )
See you.

Received an email from Oxford. Nothing new. Reads:
"Thank you for your email. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by letter shortly.

Has anyone heard anything? If decisions were made on March 11th I would presume that something is in the mail.

Got a rejection letter today...a one pager, short and not very sweet.
Posted Mar 24, 2005 14:46
I also received a rejection letter for the MJur programm today.
Not a very sweet letter. The worst is the complete absence of motives to reject an application.
Frankly is it necessary to have a Ph.d in order to be admitted? If yes, they should indicate it straight forward in the application package.
I have some great sympathy for all the "rejected" and all the best for the happy few who were accepted.

Hi all,
I received my letter of admission today. I'm awaiting my offer for a place at college. Does anybody know if I have to accept my offer from the faculty or if I only have to reply after I receive the college offer?
In other words, do I have to respond in any way to the initial admission offer from the faculty?
Thanks in advance

Hi Mimcho
Does the letter from the faculty tell you that your dossier is now forwarded to the colleges of your preference . If that is what the letter syas then you have to wait till you are offered a place by a college. Thus to the best of my knowledge , what you have to acpet is the the offer of admission from the college.

P.S. Congratulations on admissions to Oxford!

Good question, I'm wating for Cambridge too....
Posted Mar 27, 2005 21:16
Cambridge have sent emails to successful candidates already - though whether to all or just some I don't know.
Posted Mar 27, 2005 21:54
Not had any news yet. Apparently, only Cambridge grads have received confirmation e-mails from the Faculty, i.e. not the BGS. To my knowledge, no "externals" have gotten a confimation or rejection from the BGS yet.
Good luck to everyone !

Thanks for the info, Maple!
Do you know whether also applicants who did not get their BCL at Cambridge, i.e. so-called externals, have received confirmation e-mails? When did the people you know get those e-mails?
Thanks for your answers in advance. Best - Diego

I know at least two 'externals' who received confirmation emails last week.
Posted Mar 27, 2005 22:18
Thanks for reverting so swiftly to me, Maple! Appreciate...

Yeah, I am an 'external' student (LLB from UCL), and I have received all admission paperwork from Cambridge.
