Congrats, must be brilliant to know what you'll be doing next year already!
I'm certainly not expecting to be in the first batch of offers. But maybe this means that the expedited rejections have been sent out too? which would be good news. Although it's probably not a good idea to speculate, who knows really.

I think it might have been easier before sites like these existed and you could just forget about it until you saw a letter on the doormat. I'm not sure it's healthy to be constantly checking and second guessing.
Although I have no self control and will probably be on here an average of 7 times a day for the next 6 months.

You're completly right! I sometimes think that it would be much better if sites like this doesn't exist, so someone would be much more calmly and not looking every minute what other people are doing. On the other hand this site has its benefits, too.

I am pretty sure I submitted the online form right on the deadline - because I always do :).
As for the supporting materials, I remember getting the largest part of them there by the 15th of November or so, and some stuff that was delayed should have gotten there before the end of November.

Congrats on the offer ! I sent in a paper application and all I have received so far is an email acknowledging the receipt of the application. I am yet to receive an ID and password for the self service account !! Is anyone else in a similar position or should I write to the BGS inquiring about the status of my application? Any advice will be appreciated !

Hi there,
I received an offer this Monday, too. The email says that the formal offer is yet to arrive via mail in the next days, so I don't know 100% about the exact conditions. But I guess they'll be the usual ones (Financial, college admission, perhaps IELTS).
I didn't really expect the offer to come this early, as the homepage states that decisions are made until April 15th. Nice christmas present, however!
For those of you who are interested in dates:
I applied online, I think around November 10, and sent in the supporting documents approx. one week later. On December 5, the self-service area changed to "papers with degree committee", and now, 2 1/2 weeks later, I got the offer.
I wish you all best luck with your applications. It would be nice to meet some of you in Cambridge next year. In the meantime: Merry Christmas!

Not that it matters, but just to get a feel, what were the "academic profiles" of those that have already managed to get an offer?

Woooow congratulations!! U must be celebrating by now. Where are u from and can u tell us extremely briefly your profile. This waiting is killing me..

I received a conditional offer this morning. Unlike other applicants I applied in early October.
Posted Jan 05, 2010 19:27
Thanks!! I applied around November 10. As to my 'credentials', I am still a student at one of the best universities in the Netherlands ( I am not Dutch though), rank no. 1 in my class and have interned at some prestigious institutions.

Congratulations lost_applicant!!!!!!!!! where are u from???
Thanks littledoll for the reply. It seems to me that just ranks 1 are getting offers till now. Among other "credentials" I am in the 5% of my class (huge one in a very prestigious public Uni) as Cambridge site´s seems to require but I am certainly getting insecure as the weeks pass.
In any case is great for you guys, please celebrate the offer as it deserves!!!!
