Hi there!
Congratulations to you as well.
to be honest I am not up to speed on the whole process. I am a Canadian citizen, but live in Austria. Now, however, I am in Canada for two weeks to see my parents. So, my internet access here is limited and my documents are in Austria. So, I will wait till I get back on April 1 and then check my paper mail and try to figure everything out. I think the best bet right now if to call the Academy. They are not very keen on answering emails, but I called them once and got my inquiry answered. I know it's a bit ridiculous to pay the non-refundable deposit before we are accepted at University of Geneva and before student visas are obtained. I think there should be some room for paying a bit later. I mean, after all, it was they who were late with admission answers, so it's only fair that they give us two weeks extra time too. But I will check everything in detail once I am back in Austria. If you hear anything or if you wish to ask anything, please do not hesitate to email me at tanya_tokar82@hotmail.com
COngrats again. I take it that you are accepting? I still haven't heard anything about teh reputation of the program, although individual professors are outstanding.

Hi Petra1
Congratulations!
Right now I am in a daze, I have to make a decision quickly, but I am not sure of what is the right step for me. For me it's not so much other offers as my personal situation. I have no French, so I will have to invest in French courses over the summer and throughout the academic year to be able to qualify for future internships. Plus I will have to live away from my husband and we got married only recently. I want to be able to have a job after the program and I am scared that I will squander the last savings I have, live away from Alex for almost two years (if you factor in the potential internship) and then with the minimal French I will obtain in this short time I might not even get an internship or a job. And I found out nothing about the reputation of the Academy, I don't know any of the graduates or where the job chances are. So, it's all very uncertain right now. On the other hand, I am really looking forward to studying with amazing students and amazing professors. But I just don't have a feel for this program - it's all partial information and all of it on paper, nothing from experience of those who went through it. I will deal with it once I get back to Austria in 10 days. Ultimately it all hinges on the scholarship. Without it it's simply not affordable.
Let me now what you decide and congratulatios again.

hi everyone I am new to this board. I got accepted by the Academy but received my letter of offer quite late. Anyway I have couriered all my registration documents including payment to the University of Geneva from where I am, Malaysia, and was informed by the courier company that my parcel will only arrive at the University on the 2nd of May. Does anyone know if this will disqualify me for registration?

hi, I don't think you will have a problem. The day youmailed it should be the one that counts, and if you explained whyyou are sending everything late, it should be OK. Univeristy of Geneva were actually pretty great. They acknowledged the receipt of documents immediately and sent me a letter of acceptance within the same week. I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. Plus, if you first registered online, then they already know about you and are expecting your documents.

also, to all those who are waiting for scholarship answers, I emailed the Academy yesterday, as I could no longer take the wait. They said that they will make their decisions by the end of the week and will communicate them by the middle of next week by email, but if anyone needs a formal written confirmation (for visas, etc) , then we shoul email them and request it. So, more delays...

Hey there Woralick, good to hear from someone from the Far East! my email is steppenwolfe79@yahoo.com so please feel free to correspond with me at any point.... am sure we will share many similar worries and anticipations:) You take care..
Also, for anyone who is reading, I know this may be abit too much to ask, but my French is pretty paltry (just had my first day beginner's class) and could not really understand this email I received from University of Geneva today.... if anyone is able to understand it, will it be okay if you let me know what it means? Just the essence of the message, not the entire email verbatim.... thanks for any response!!!

Dear steppenwolfe
This is an acknowledge of receipt of your application file (in french we call accusé de reception) stating that the admimistative department of university of geneva got your application file already and will proceed your enrollment soon. If your enrollment is complete, university will sent you all of documents concerning to study guide in this academic year. This is a standard form that we have got after sending our application file to geneva university. I think that you will receive enrollment certificate and student guide by post within next week

Hi Petra!
I was wondering if the academy gave you a scholarship and if you are going there. I did not get any financial assistance and therefore unless a miracle happens between now and June 15, I will not be able to go. But if you do go and study there, I would appreciate if we couldstay in touch, as I will try to save as much as I can and reapply next year and I would like to know from somebody there (i.e. you ;) how it really is.
Thanks.
