Hey guys, I created this post for persons who have applied for the LLM programme for the academic year 2017/2018.
I applied both to the university and WIPO for scholarship. I am in receipt of an acceptance letter from the University of Turin. Anyone else here in receipt of such a response? Are there anyone who applied for WIPO scholarship and was favoured for such a scholarship? Let us applicants keep in touch for support.

I applied in January of this year and they responded with an offer in February. Did you apply to Turin only or WIPO Academy only or both?

Oh nice!
I'm actually planning to get an IP consultant position in a big international law firm as my background is in Law and I've been working as a lawyer. I would like to focus more on copyright and traditional knowledge but what I noticed is that most of LLM are heavily patent oriented.
Wish you all good luck, I hope we can hear good news soon!!
Let's keep in touch,
Marcio

Ok Cool.
Well not all the masters have a structured progamme as Turin. Queen Mary University of London offers a good programme with a wide selection of courses. You could focus primarily on the area you want with that programme. I want to focus more on patent wile at the same time touch on the other areas as well and i think the programme offered by Turin is is best for such an experience. The courses covered is exactly what i want. A mix of all the areas and those areas that are on the rise, especially patent. With QMUL's programme the credit system will restrict me to vast array of courses i would want knowledge in and so i rather Turin's programme. Check out QMUL programme and courses. You may like it.

And yeah, good luck with your application. Keep in touch and let me know how it progresses.

Dear all,
Nice to finally find a forum to discuss the LLM programme in Turin. I have tried to get some contacts of past students from the course secretary but was not helpful at all.
I am from Malta, Europe and currently am looking for a masters in IP. I have been eyeing this programme for some time but somewhat I do find the course details regarding the programme structure as quite vague and do not describe in detail the subjects to be offered. Maybe you can help me bit in this.
My background is in commercial business although I have been working in IP for the past 3 years at the Malta National IP Office.
Below are some questions that I have that I would greatly appreciate if anyone could assist me since this would help me better whether to apply for the LLM course:
1) Is part 1 of the course (the distant learning part) more generic on IP rights and not going into a lot of legal?
2) Is part 2 be covering case laws only on patents, trademarks, designs, trade secrets etc. ?
3) Any idea if the research part would need be also carried out like an investigation of case laws?
My general query is whether this course is more tailored for future attorneys or for someone who is interested to know about IP rights both from a legal standpoint but also from a commercial point of view?
Your assistance would be of great help.
Kind regards,
Ivan

Evening.
First I must say I am in no better position than you to answer your questions regarding the course, because I am only a prospective student. However, the following answers to your questions is what i have gleaned from my extensive reading and search before applying for the programme.
One the course seems to be both substantive and procedural in nature seeing that drafting of application and all will be involved.
Phase one consist of three modules which will introduce students to the substantive nature of the different for of IP and the legal framework that exist for IP. I am assuming, that since its a law masters, case analysis will be involved.
The second phase to me, seems to look at the procedural and and substantive aspects of IP ( further details) as well as look at competition law, enforcement of IP, etc.
In relation to the research portion, i cannot say much.
Check the following sites for detail
http://www.itcilo.org/masters-programmes/ll-m-in-intellectual-property
This site should provide more detail about the phase one courses
http://www.wipo.int/academy/en/courses/distance_learning/
May be you could contact Turin or WIPO via phone and get further details.

This is Pooja. It is nice to see post for this particular course for current year. I too have applied. I only received automatic confirmation post application. My IELTS results were withheld and delayed, so I sent that later in March. Hence, I am not sure if my application will be considered for admission. Please do write to me to poojasayani@gmail.com in case you guys get updates about 'ranking list' etc.
Thanks..

Well I was informed that persons who are selected for the scholarship from WIPO will be notified by the end of April and others can check their status using their portal. If you applied directly to TURIN, then they should have contacted you by now if all your documents were in, that is if you applied early.
Best of luck.

Well yeah, had contacted her in the initial stage of the application re- language requirement seeing that English was my native language. She responded a few days close to end of the deadline for and in follow-up emails she said that persons selected will be informed at the end of April. So fingers crossed here.
