Hello everyone
I have been admitted to Europa-Institut in Saarbrücken and Institut d'Etudes Européens (université libre de Bruxelles) for a LLM in European Law. I can't decide between them.
I would love to be in Brussels in the heart of the European Institutions, it will be very good for making contacts. In the same time, I am very much interested in languages, I would like to develop my German further (I know already French and English). I could go to Brussels after my LLM in Saarbrücken but would it be much easy to find an Internship there from Saabrücken?
Anybody who has good advice about that?

Hello!!!
I recently finished my LLM in Europa Institut and I'm going to try and help people decide. These are some of the reasons why I'd retake Saarbrücken between all the options if I had to do it again.
First of all, Europa Institut occupies the 14th place in the "100 most popular Law Schools in Europe", while the ULB in Brussels has the 71th place. (This info can be checked here https://llm-guide.com/most-popular/europe ).
Secondly, the programm offered in Saarbrücken is very complete in European as well as in International Law, because you can pick between 5 different Modules (you can even choose more than one).
Thirdly, Saarbrücken is placed in Germany, which makes it the best option to learn German. In this Programm you can actually choose every subject either in English or in German, and you can mix them as much as you want. Also, Germany is much cheaper than Belgium, so going to the supermarket and accomodation in Saarbrücken is more than affordable.
In fourth place, althought it's true the main institutions of the EU are located in Brussels, Saarbrücken is situated in the very center of Europe. Its distance from Luxemburg is of 1,5 hours, and the same one from Strassbourg. Brussels is 3 hours away, but Europa Institut takes you to these 3 cities to visit the main institutions, make contacts with important companies and law firms, and meet students who have finished the program and found a job (to ask for advice).
I really hope this is helpful!!!

I'm not sure that this website's 'popularity' ranking is the best way to gauge a school's quality.
It's certainly a good school for EU Law, as are these others:

I'm curious: for you specifically, did the degree lead to a job / career growth?

Is it necessary to have a Master's Degree for applying to the Advanced Master's program at IES VUB? I have a LLB.
