Hey there,
I have been accepted to EU law LLM programmes in both Groningen and Maastricht as well as in the Public international law programme in Ámsterdam. I just graduated in june and my main goal is working in the European Union. However, I still didnt find an accommodation and so I havent really decided which masters to take. I think i'd rather choose a EU law programme than public international law considering it Will be more useful if i want to work in the EU. However, I am not sure about how good Maastricht or Groningen are in that field and if its really worth it or not. Does anyone have further information on this? Maybe I should wait another year and apply to other options…
Thanks for your attention and have a Good day everyone.

Hi octavius97!
As far as I'm concerned, Maastricht University has a very good programme related to EU law, however, Groningen is far ahead when it comes to Public International Law. You can check it on llm-guide rankings, as well as in "keuzegids" which is the independent study comparator.
Have a good day too!

I wouldn't say *far* ahead. These three are all world-class schools. In any case, you didn't get accepted into the Groningen PiL program, though, correct?
However, goal-wise, I wouldn't have your expectations too high about working in the EU after graduating (I'm assuming you don't already have EU residency? Do you speak any of the continental European languages?)
LLM programs, since they typically don't have strong career services support - compared to for other degrees like an MBA - are not fantastic enablers of international mobility (most grads go back to their home countries after finishing.)
If international mobility is indeed your goal, and you want to do this through a law degree, you'll have to narrow down your focus '(I want to work in a specific kind of organization doing a specific kind of job) and network, network, network to reach that goal during the LLM.
I honestly don't think another year would add much value, in terms of your goal, as you're already accepted into some top schools.
Maybe taking a year to learn one of the European languages intensively, or doing on-the-ground networking, might be beneficial though.
