Hello!
My name is Camila and I'm from Brazil. I was looking to improve my knowledge in the international field of law in France and I found at UCLY, in Lyon, a great option that met all my expectations.
I studied the LLM in International Trade & Investment Law last year and had a very positive experience with the entire program.
In the pre-admission procedures, I was able to feel the commitment of the entire master's coordination team. And that engagement lasted for the entire school year.
The master's program is very varied and includes several branches of law, which for me was a plus. The focus is on International Trade Law. However, it was possible to deepen the knowledge on important subjects of corporate law, European law and, mainly, International Investment Law. At the end of the year, we were able to experience the practice of international investment arbitration through a moot, joining theory and practice in a very interesting way.
Teachers were from different areas of expertise. Most of them are practitioners who work directly in institutions linked to the proposed themes, which enhanced the debates in the classroom.
We also had a very interesting field trip to the WTO headquarters, in Geneva, during the second semester.
Being in an international environment and sharing experiences with a group of students from the most diverse countries was definitely a highlight of the course for me. Friendship and network that I will keep for life.
Besides the Master itself, living in Lyon made the experience even more pleasant. The city is incredible. Neither too big nor too small. It is cosmopolitan, full of cultural attractions and, as the gourmets say, Lyon is the world’s culinary capital.
