Hi,
I have been admitted into both LL.M (Vienna and Leiden)... and I think I am going to go to Leiden, but I am not sure...
Which LLM. do you think is best?
My major concern is whether or not I am going to find an employment easily after the master.
I read that in the Netherlands, any applicant is admitted. Is it true?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Dear Laure,
I cannot answer you from personal experience about Leiden but friends who studied there were not so enthusiastic for their studies in Netherlands as the University was a bit disorganized.
Take also into account that you are going to live in a small countryside town nothing like Vienna.

Hello, does any one knows which is the best LLM in International Tax, many people had told me the best ones are NY, Florida and Vienna, others told me Leiden but about Leiden some others had told me that Leiden is a master for kids because one can not see any real case which is really useless. Is it true? Please help!!!
Thanks a lot in advance.

As i had mention, some people had told that the master in Leiden is for beginners. I am there is no real cases and until now what i know is that not all the people had found a job even their grades are good unless that you have a european passport which make a big difference, indeed, it is easy but even some europeans had not found any job.

Why don't you read the correspondences of the older students under Vienna and the LL.M in International Legal Studies? Then you would know that not everybody is accepted since the faculty is so highly qualified.
By tthe way why do you talk about tax law under this LL.M. page at all.
The LLM in International Legal Studies focuses on Investment Arbitration among other things like Internat.Economic Law, International Organizations, Human Rights...
Vienna has UN Headquarters next door!!!

Hi, Laure.
I agree with some people that Vienna would be a better option. I haven't read very good opinions in this website about Leiden and the Netherlands. For instance, many people who studied there complained about the fact that dutch students always got higher grades than international students without any reason. It seems to me that dutch people are kind of xenophobe. In the other hand, every time people talks about Vienna (the city, the university and the LLM) they have excellent opinions.
Besides, the LLM in Vienna has several courses in different areas of International Law, so you would learn about a lot of different tracks, while at Leiden it is only PIL...
If I were you I would go to Vienna!
Best regards!!
PS: Let us know what your final decision is! :)

Hello, to answer your question, Vienna is a great city to live in, I've been here for 1 1/2 years. I've spoken to the Law Faculty in Uni Wien, they were nice and always responsive to all my emails when I am away.
I plan to apply for this program however, since I'm American an LL.M is not considered a Law Degree in the US. Unless it is a JD you can't practice law in every state, only the state of California recognizes or allows LLM and online law degrees to practice. But for Academic purposes this is perfect.
I would not live in the Netherlands, I traveled there a few times, people are not friendly.
