College of Europe v. Maastricht University

Maksim

I have been admitted to the European Legal Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges Campus) and to the European Law School at the Maastricht University. Quite a hard choice as both are well-known for EU Law. I kinda like the program at Bruges better, but I've received a bigger scholarship for studies at Maastricht. Can anyone suggest on which university to choose in terms of prestige, quality of education, future prospects, etc. (i'm not an EU citizen, by the way)?

Hi Maksim, did you make up your mind yet? ?
I would def. choose the College of Europe.. Maastricht seems very good, but nothing beats the network of the College of Europe !
If you want to work in Brussels or Competition Law, just take a look at the resume of the lawyers working in those firms... (go surf on Legal 500): very few of them (Belgians and foreigners) have a degree from Maastricht, but a lot of them have a degree from the College!
Then again, if you're planning to be a lawyer in your home country, you might decide it's not worth the money. Maastricht is a very good program, but the LLM from the College of Europe is excellent (in terms of professors and future prospects).
Hope that helps !

Hey, Maksim, I'm admitted to Maastricht, that's exactly what I want and fight for! But I find it really hard for providing my finances. What kind of scholarship were you provided there?

Thanks!

I got the Huygens scholarship - you can find it on http://www.nuffic.nl/ among other ones. However the deadline for Huygens for the studies starting in fall was quite early - end of january - beginning of february if i remember right. Good luck anyways!
