well, respecting if they are going to send us the email or not, I can say, after my experiences reading all the post here about the college of europe in older promotions, the first thing they do is send to you an email and this email they can date you in one place at one h, somewhere in your country (normally the place where you applied in) or even they can give you the choise to do an telephonic interview, or they just say you "We are sorry, but you don't get it" in few words.

After that, and only if you are one of the lucky one who get it, you will go to the interview and they will be asking you for about 30 min, even in french and english.

A month later, they will send you an other email like that:

The College of Europe decission: CONGRATULATIONS, WELCOME TO THE COLLEGE OF EUROPE

or

WE SORRY, YOU ARE NOT SELECTED.

(I hope we all will be in the first one) :D

And, after all they publicise an oficial document in the web of the internaciontl affairs ministery giving a list of the names and bourses, and starting and final dates of the courses.

That's all, and this is how they work in Spain, I think is more or less the same in the rest of the countries.

Regarding English level - I took my IELTS and I got a very good grades but I did study in Ireland for two years.

I don't think not being a native speaker is a big drawback, as long as you pass the standards set by the college... (I think they only ask for 6.5 IELTS which is quite little)

hey guys, I am worried about something, I have not yet the oficial paper of the TOEFL results, but I have them in a email which the TOEFL org. have sent to me, and I don't know what to do, if to send it by email to the college or to send it by postal mail to the college and with one of them choises a explicatory letter.

What do you would do ?

I would include the email in your application with a little note saying that you will send them the "proper" one when it'll be available.

I don't think it's a big deal since technically you don't have to take those tests so hey.

Yes, in my country the deadline is also on the 15th but I have already sent my application to the college in december... :D I wanted to be sure, and for the sapanish commité the deadline is the 28th, so I have still time, but even that, I want to have all the documents sent before 15th, so I am going to do it now. And I will say to you when it will be done.

For Antigone and L2, I received this information from the admissions office of the CoE: interviews are planned in France between April 4 and April 8. Results of the preselection should be on Egide's website 2 weeks before that if everything goes well.

Hello to everyone! I am a mexican student and I have applied to the Master in Pol. and Aministrative studies. Upss.... Do I am the only Latinamerican applying? :) hope not.
I imagine that everybody has the same level of anxiety as I waiting to get an email saying SOMETHING!
I am a little bit concerned because I don´t have the best grades but I do have some "important" extracurricular activities do you think the grades will matter a lot?

I am new in all this "posting" but I am excited to share comments with you about the College of Europe.

Hi to the new mexican guy!!!it's nice to see new people sharing the experiences...well, I don't have neither a very good grades, well they are not bad, but not as good as 4.

But don't mind about that, as I have knew they don't worry just about the grades, there is a mix of things, and that's what really is important. They pay attention to the letters of recomendation, extracurriculars activities, erasmus or experiences abroad, and staff like that.

Agree with Efetra, grades are just one criteria among others. But are you sure that they pay attention to the recomendation letters ? I mean, in each letter professors say that the student is serious, brilliant, ambitious and so on...

Besides applying to College of Europe, does anyone is applying for a scholarship? I am through the Spanish National Comitee so that is anther thing that keeps me really nerveous because they only give five scholarships to latinamericans.
To prepare my interview (assuming that I will get it) I will take an intensive french course to practice my french and since last week I´ve been reading european newspapers to be aware of the current affairs. I´m also writing my thesis about the construction of a common inmigration policy in the EU so I am revising a lot of EU history and policy. I think that the interview tests your languaje skills and your capability to structure the information you have, also they want to know how motivated you are and if you fulfill the profile of student their looking for.

hey peki, I am applying for a scholarship too, but I am a spanish girl, and I am applying to the college of europe by the spanish comitee and I think that they have 20 scholarships for all of the spanish applicants.
Do you know how many people they pick up in the college without scholarship?

And about my french, well I have the TCF, I think the languages are not a problem for me, for personal circunstances I am very involved in the french language, and about the dayli world staff I consider that I am also pretty good in this, I use to read a lot, politicals esays and newspapers, etc..

I'm also a Spanish student in my last year, and I have just applied to the LLM in the College.

In fact, I think that my chances are few, because it is hard to get in, but anyway I will prepare myself because you never know... My weak point is my limited knowledge of french, but I'm trying to solve it.

Reading this topic has been really helpfull for me, so I want to participate as much as possible here.

Are all you applying to anywhere else? What do you think about your own chances? And the most important question: what do you expect from the College?

I'm quite nervous, because the change in the education method from the spanish one (at least in my school, quite old-fashioned) to other can be difficult...

EFETRA regarding to the scholarship even I am applying through the Spanish National Comittee I am doing it as mexican. As far as I know they only grant 5 scholarships to latinamericans so I don´t know how does it work for spanish. By the way, after what you said about your preparation for the interview, I thik you have everything under control so don´t worry, you´ll do it fine.

Hello to Findol, answering your question, I´m not applying yet to another university but I´ve seen some interesting options in Leuven and Barcelona but until today I don´t have a Plan B. The thing is I am really hoping to enter College of Europe for personal and academic reasons. as everybody I think hehe. About the teaching method, I think it will be hard even if you are a belgian student ( they are familiar with the methods) so be prepared for a tough year of hard work and study!!!!!!

Like peki, I am only applying to CoE. I am not sure this is the best strategy but other schools didn't convince me as much as CoE. It really seems the best one on all European issues.

I have one question: how do you prepare for the interview? I wonder if I should wait to know if I am pre-selected or not, but then I may only have a 2-week notice, which isn't much to prepare well... Do you actually study for it? Or do you read newspaper and such?
