Hello everyone,

I was admitted from the British side.
I was wondering whether anyone knew how many applicants in general and how many UK applicants were admitted for Bruges?

I wish you all best luck for people who still have interviews or are on the waiting list. Happy to help with my interview questions.

Congrats, dear!

How long did it take them to respond? I hear the duration is usually about 2 weeks. I had my interview a week ago, I'm already impatient.

Were you interviewed over the phone or through a selection committee? And how was your interview. I'm only asking cos I'm worried my performance wasn't too impressive.

Hey Hey, thanks for the congratulations.

It took them 10 days - 2 weeks but it could take them more. Which committee have you applied from?
I was interview over the phone but through the UK Selection Committee. I couldn't be in London at that time.

As to my performance during the interview, it last 12 minutes instead of 20. I screwed up the questions on Treaty of Lisbon and wasn't expecting any questions relating to postgraduate studies etc. I was surprised when I got the offer of admission.

Don't worry I hope it went fine. When it comes to interviews we're always unsure!

Oh, that's a relief. I messed up a lot in my interview as well, hence my insane distress. My interview lasted 17 mins, I think it's cos I asked them to repeat the questions a couple of times. The connection was unbearable. I'm glad to see that you messing up didn't affect your chances of admission. Oh, and there is no selection committee for my country, so I applied directly through the college.

How's your French?

This is very helpful. Thank you SO much. So does this mean that if I get admitted I should book my flight on the 29th then, right?

The general instructions sheet states that on Monday 29 August or Monday 12 September 2011, the students will be welcomed by the members of the Student Affairs Office and Academic Assistants. Welcoming hours from 09.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
I suppose we'll receive the keys of our room at that moment.

Hi!! I also applied with the Spanish scholarship for the EPA Master but I haven't received anything yet. When did you get the emails from CoE?

Hi!!!
The CoE did not e-mail me. I just got a confirmation from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the Spanish Committee). I haven't been contacted again so I am going to write an e-mail to them tomorrow to find out more!!So far I have only accepted the scholarship. What about you??Did you receive more information?
Huge hugs,
Bea

Bea, no I haven't received any emails neither from CoE nor from the Spanish Committee... that's why I was wondering, because I did my interview on the 26th of April, more than one month ago. But I applied through the Latin America scholarship (I'm brazilian) maybe that's why it's taking so long :(

@People attending Natolin!
Hiya!!!I e-mailed Natolin and asked them a few questions regarding the Introductory Summer Courses and how to pick optional courses.
This is the e-mail I got back in case it helps!!

In answer to your questions I would like to kindly inform you that you will receive all admission-related information in an admission letter that is always sent by the Admissions Office of the College of Europe. It would include any conditions for admission, if applicable. You will be also provided with a link to a website for admitted students, where you will find apart form other useful information - the reading list. For sure that would be an asset to familiarize yourself with some of the recommended readings before the star of the academic year.

Please note that in the first semester students follow six compulsory courses and choose from three optional courses depending on academic background. A non compulsory compact seminar cycle is open to all. You will decide about the participation in the optional courses at the beginning of the academic year. Later on you will take a decision regarding your choice regarding the attendance at the compact seminar cycle. For more details please consult our website: http://www.coleurope.eu/template.asp?pagename=eisstudycomp

I hope I hear from them soon. The anticipation is quite daunting.

Oh, ok! I thought you were English. My French is alright as well, but they assumed from my application that is bad. So they didn't ask me anything in French. Did they ask you questions in French?

Congrats to everyone who's been admitted. And best of luck to those who are still waiting.

Yes the interview was half in French, half in English.

YES to creating a fb group for everyone who's been admitted. I want to find LLM friends :p
But I don't know how we could create it and invite people as we don't know our names and aren't friends on fb. Maybe we could create it and post the link here?

Hi!

I recently heard from the admissions office that someone withdrew and that I was now admitted to the LLM programme. I was thrilled! However, I already planned to attend Queen Mary, following international business law and then focussing on international commercial law and ADR. This is totally different from COE that focusses on competition and would only allow me a limited choice in trade law. my plans for the near future are becoming a lawyer.
I feel these two can hardly be compared, as they are both renowed institutions in their specific areas. Still I have to choose and I don't know what to do. I would like to add that I am Belgian and that an extra common law diploma is regarded an asset by employers.

Could you please give me some considerations and opinions?

Thank you so much in advance!
