Anybody could get me information about the bar requirement at sweden.
Can a foreign lawyer (LL.M from sweden) is eligible to register at bar or not?

Admission to the bar in sweden is a lengthy issue. You will need 5 years of experience (with good references) from a law-firm. Moreover, you will have to attend to 3 courses (each course is 3 days) and then take an oral examination (in Swedsh that is). When applying to the bar, you will have to list all proffessional references that you´ve had with other lawyers and courts of law, which will be contacted by tha bar association and be asked to give an opinion as to whether you have enough qualifications to be a member of the bar. The proffessional references do not have to be from the swedish bar, so it ok to list contacts from lets say Spain or Belgium.
Claerly its better to apply to a another european bar association first and let the EC regulations work for you!

Thanx for a reply. Would you like to suggest me about the situation? I am planning for pursuing LL.M (Jan 2006) from Stockholm University. I like the country very as very peaceful. Or
it's better to do LL.M from Other european country like Germany or French.
I also would like to know about to get admittted in a european bar. I am an Indian Lawyer.
