Hi there,
I'm thinking about applying at a Canadian university. But how are your chances? Is it generally hard to get admitted? How is the competition? There hompages sound pretty harsh..
Thanks for your input

As Co-Director of Graduate Studies at University of Ottawa, I can tell you that Canadian law schools are in fact friendly [not 'harsh' even if some of our websites are not very engaging].
While it is impossible to give a potential candidate a firm position of prospects for admission without seeing the full file [transcripts, letters of reference, work experience, prior research experience, etc], you should feel free to contact Cdn law schools individually to get an idea about your prospects based upon providing them with key info.
If you have already applied & not heard back yet, then feel free to contact the law school by email for a status report & they shoukld get back to you quickly to give you an ansdwer or at least a timeframe for when you'll get an answer.
Good luck.

Hi Julie,
Applied online around the middle of Feb and subsequently sent my supporting documnets. My Application must have been complete very close to the March 1 deadline. Have you applied to any other Canadian schools?

For mine it is normal that it takes so long. It will be very long story to tell you. But I ask for other, they said that decision has not been reached...

Julie,
The Application status is available online on www.mcgill.ca/minerva
On that website when I type out my details(the 9 digit pin number provided by the university and password), it indicates my application status as "Ready for review"

hi, applied to mcgill.
Has anyone heard anything? Admissions granted...or not?
They say I would have an answer by may 1st too... but my file is still "ready for review".
Btw, I'm stressin' the hell out of me... am i right or are they really "not so harsh"?
