The College of Law in London has recently announced it will be running a NY bar course for GDL students. I don't think this will be of help to those who have already completed the GDL, but if anyone out there has not reached that stage yet, this could be good for you.
There is a story here: http://l2b.thelawyer.com/1003750.article
Basically, CoL is planning to offer a 22 week preparatory course for the NY bar to its students who have taken the GDL and LPC. At the end of all that studying, students will be awarded with a JD degree. This will entitle them to take the NY bar exam.
I believe this is the first (and currently only?) way for GDL students to take the NY bar exam without having to undertake some study in the US (e.g. LLM/JD).
NB. I'm not trying to advertise CoL's new venture by posting this! I just thought it might be useful to some people!!
