NY bar. 2-year UK Law degree from Oxford or Buckingham

.Anybody who has done the 2-year Oxford Ba Jurisprudence (senior status) or the Buckingham 2-year LLB and who has gone on to sit for the NY bar without having had to do an LLM? Please help. Priyanka. :-)

Does the NY bar allow the holders of either qualification to sit its exam straightforwardly, or do they have to do a US LLM? Also, does the person need to have passed the UK BVC first or not?

Thanx guys! :-) Priyanka

You do need to read a US LLM before sitting for NY Bar exam, since the 2yr UK LLB is an accelerated program.

Should you had studied in the 3yr regular LLB, the LLM cure would not have been required.

Hope I did not answer too late for you!
