I am sorry I do not really know how does the educational system work in Australia.
I have a French bilingual Licence in law (French equivalent of a LLB) and a bilingual Masters degree in Law (French equivalent of a LLM).
I also have an English LLM (Uni of Reading) but I do not have any English LLB...
I would like to practice law in Australia but I do not know if my diploma will be recognised there, and if not what studies should I do in Australia in order to become a lawyer there.?

Hi Mathilde,
I may be wrong but my impression is that the French is under a civil law system. Given this, you would probably have to complete a substantial amount of LLB/JD courses within a standard Australian law degree. The good news is that you MAY not have to complete that many electives as compared to other law students in Australia.
Thereafter, you will then have to complete the 6 month Practical Legal Training diploma or a 1 year clerkship program with a law firm to gain admission.
I hope that this is helpful. Please double-check with the relevant authorities that provide assessment of foreign qualifications to find out the 'official' response to your question.
