Don't go. Unless...
If you are an American I would say do not go. It has not been a good experience for me here. American law is simply much more interesting than Australian law. It has been too much of a gruel getting through required courses and other stuff tends to be boring and a lack of debates among students is disappointing. There are way too law students here as well. Undergrad plus postgrad. It just doesn't seem 'special', just one of lots compared to a US school where you know who the others. One class- one year JD. Not like that here. Since Australian JD's won't transfer to the US that's another negative.
My advice is to skip law school all together, or if you want to come here do a Masters. If you like Australia and want to consider moving here, then the law degree may be good. Australian business and admin law is pretty strong. If not my advice is DO NOT come here for a 3 year JD program. Way too much money and simply not worth it.
If you really want to go UNSW is better than USYD(USYD sucks, sucks sucks sucks!) but UNSW keep piling in more students which is disappointing. Too much growth is not a good thing. The truth is you can get accepted here because international students pay more, that's why there are lots of Chinese students here. But in reality Australian students have a big advantage with how the system works and job prospects. So simply not worth it unless you are going to be staying in Australia so check it out first and if you do come here and don't like it, drop out after a semester/year. Also it is really expensive here. I didn't expect the costs to be so high, rent/food etc.
