NUS-LLM(YEAR 2012-13)

Hello everyone!
Wanted to know the general reputation of the IBL course of NUS. Also if anybody is interested in applying for this course for year 2012-13.. How do we prepare for the application. Would appreciate if seniors would come forward and help us with the same.
Thanks!

Hey Hi everyone even I am also planning to apply for NUS.
I guess Application will start next month only and also NYU@NUS is also great but this time they are taking through LSAC which is Quite Confusing.

We should all update each other with the Application process as it will be good if we all can discuss and then go ahead for the Admission process.

No for the scoloarship you have to give TOEFL
TOEFL Waiver can be requested only if we don't take scholarship from them.

Hey the SOP should be short but brief and to the point only coz sometimes the Admission staff says that SOP should be short and brief and 2 recommendation letter is perfect

I don't think it will necessarily be incomplete. Did you study a degree that was taught in English? If so, don't see why it would be a problem? It's really worth checking the guidance notes.

The following page has all the applications for the programmes, and includes guidance notes:

http://law.nus.edu.sg/admissions/app_periods_forms.html

An interesting feature of all the required documents to be submitted with your application is that they must be fresh originals. In other words, they require you to get the awarding body to send them new transcripts.

I want to know:

1. What is the general reputation of this course?
2. What is the teaching like?
3. How difficult is it to get in to? Particularly, is it necessary to be a practising lawyer, or what's the proportion of people on the course who are practising lawyers?
4. Do you know of anyone who has done this course only having completed the CPE/GDL (i.e. the law conversion course of England and Wales)?

hi...

how abt the academic references, if we are submitting online application. Will NUS send the reference form directly to them? Any idea guys....

Yes, they will send your referee an email. Note, if you are applying to the International Business Law course, the application is made on paper. In this case, you will have to email or send the referee report form to your referee.

Check the guidance notes for online applications for more info.
