No offence, but this is a bit of a stupid question. Just like high school and undergraduate degrees, everyone learns in different ways and at different rates. There's no point in saying "you need to study 6 hours a day to well" as this too subjective and unfounded, as we all have friends that do very little study and do well!
There is one thing that will never change though (in my opinion), and that is the correlation between the amount of study you do and your grades!

Well, if it is such a stupid question why bother answering it?
I wanted a general outline, i.e. generally students have to study for around x amount of hours per day.
I didnt expect you to answer the question catered to a specific student.
It is important for a prospective student to know approximately what is expected of him (especially time wise) so as to organise himself and time.
so, can anyone who can give an answer actually reply please.
If I wanted lectures I would go to my father

Typically, you need to study atleast 4-5 hours a day and maybe 6-7 hours on weekends to get good grades. You need to regulary read for the classes for the succeeding day and diligently refer to the material and study from them to be able to understand the topic in the class.
I think, studing more, wil reduce your stress level during exam and maintain good grades.
The fact that you, have gained admissions in Mc gill speaks volumes about you and I am sure you will do well.
Keep studing regularly and you will succeed with flying colors.
