The Program
Westminster Law School provides an open, diverse and intellectual environment for you to develop the knowledge, skills and ethics needed to excel in the legal field. We offer practically-orientated Masters courses and benefit from close proximity to and relationships with key organisations, just some of the reasons why our graduates have an exceptional track record in gaining relevant employment in international law firms, multinational companies, international and European institutions and national government agencies.
All of our Masters courses are orientated to the world of practice in their areas. Many have substantial input from industry based in world centres of excellence like the City of London. Most are also linked to centres of excellence built on our research expertise, and academics teaching these courses are active researchers in our research centres.
Corporate Finance Law LLM provides the essential knowledge for lawyers, bankers and financiers who are keen to develop professional skills in corporate fundraising, deal structures and transactional management.
Entertainment Law LLM is linked with our Centre for Law and Popular Culture, and gives you a systematic and structured knowledge of the entertainment business and the impact of the law on it, and specific areas of entertainment law
International and Commercial Dispute Resolution Law LLM explores the three main forms of dispute resolution process - adjudication, alternative dispute resolution and negotiation.
International Commercial Law LLM addresses today’s most important business and legal challenges, including the study of commercial relationships in the international arena, the role and impact of electronic commerce, and the gradual harmonisation of international commercial law.
International Law LLM prepares you for a future career in the international arena through enhancing your understanding of the key principles of public international law, the main developments within the public international law framework and the process of globalisation and its significance for international law. The course is linked with our Centre for International Law and Theory.
Law and Technology LLM explores the ethical questions around the impact of technological developments on law.
Our Professional Legal Practice LLM provides a solid foundation to qualify either as a solicitor or a barrister, whichever profession you decide upon, while our Legal Practice LLM allows students to gain a masters while also obtaining the necessary knowledge to qualify as a solicitor.

The Law School
Westminster Law School is based in Little Titchfield Street, close to Oxford Circus in the heart of Central London. Our campus offers a highly supportive, diverse and international environment to study Law. We are committed to enabling students from all backgrounds to pursue a career in law, including those who traditionally would not have considered a path in law.
As one of London's leading providers of legal education, we offer a range of full and part-time courses that benefit from our central London location and close links to law firms. We are currently undertaking research focused on diversity in the legal profession, race, and social mobility. And our research into legal practice, international law and human rights, and commercial and financial law is recognised internationally. Our courses are developed with this research in mind to offer you the very latest in academic and practical learning.
Our innovative modules, research and real-world experience help you develop the knowledge and practical skills you need for a variety of roles within the legal profession and broader community. You will benefit from valuable networking opportunities forged from the strong links our Law School has with the legal profession, including partnerships with alumni, leading figures in the industry and professional bodies.
Students also benefit from the opportunity to volunteer at the University of Westminster Legal Advice Clinic where they can apply learning to real life cases. The Legal Advice Clinic provides free legal advice to the public in areas including housing, immigration, family and employment law and maintains close links to a number of charities and legal organisations, with which students can volunteer.
Entry Requirements
Specific entry requirements can be found on each individual course page. Most of our postgraduate law courses require a minimum of a lower second class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent.
If your first language is not English you should have an IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in writing.

Location
Westminster Law School is based in Little Titchfield Street in the heart of London, just around the corner from Oxford Circus. Our central location means we are in close proximity to leading law firms and courts, allowing students to network with future employers and gain experience, as well as enjoy all that Central London has to offer outside of the classroom, from theatres and galleries to restaurants, pubs and parks.
Accommodation
Whether you decide to live in our halls of residence or in private housing, we can help you find the right fit for you. Full-time postgraduate students can apply to live at our central London halls. The majority of rooms available are single study bedrooms with shared kitchens. These halls are easily reached if studying in London with a maximum of five Tube stops from any one of our campuses. The convenient locations are great for exploring London, with prices inclusive of all utilities.

Student Life

London is one of the best cities in the world to be a student, according to QS Best Student Cities 2023 Ranking, so there’s plenty to explore and experience right on your doorstep when you’re a Westminster student. University of Westminster Students’ Union (UWSU) offers a wide variety of sports teams, clubs and societies for you to get involved with, with a number of law specific societies giving you the opportunity to meet your classmates and fellow students from other LLM courses.
Many of our law students volunteer at our Legal Advice Clinic, which provides free legal advice to members of the public. The clinic focuses on four main areas; housing law, employment law, immigration law and family law. The University of Westminster Legal Advice Clinic is also part of the Windrush Justice Clinic, run by a collaboration of partners to assist victims of the Windrush scandal to obtain compensation for the losses and distress they have suffered because of the hostile environment.
