Any other Yale LL.M.s out there?

When did you get your letter? Does it have a list of others who got in like Harvard?

They actually called mid-March. I heard though that there may be a second round sometime in April (this is just third-hand knowledge of course). The letter came after, and doesn't have a list of who else was admitted.

I know you, me (but won't go), vakil (india) and another Swiss guy, which makes 4 out of 25 around for the first round. Unfortunately, I don't know others.

I'm on the Yale waiting list so thanks Bitsou for pulling out. Have you let them know that you won't be going?

Yes, they didn't reply and were probably a bit upset, which is stupid as I had really carefully explain the reasons of my choice for Stanford but well... But yes, my place is already free.

Bitsou, I can imagine they are a bit upset. It's a big hit to their ego. I know of two others who have declined Yale's offer. It seems like they are not number one in everyone's eyes...

Oh yes, I'm not the only one, that's a relief I have to say :).
I think it really depends upon your field; to be admitted to Yale surely flatters everyone's ego (me included I would be a lier not to admit it), but it makes no sense for instance to go to Yale for IP rights while the three most cited authors in the world are in Stanford...You have to think a bit before accepting an offer, the name doesn't make your program or even future...Probably they know it and that's why in my case they didn't reply and were a bit upset.
Other criteria may come into account; if you have a wife or husband, what will she/he be doing in New Have while you're working....it can be easier at other places.
Where r u from ?

Keep on rejecting at Yale.
Bitsou, I agree with you that if you have a specific interest it is worth following that line, particularly when Stanford is the other option.
Luckily I'm on my own so if I do get into Yale there won't be anyone else having to put up with dull New Haven.

Hi. I got my confirmation by the Graduate Admissions committee at Yale around mid march. I've heard from three other admitted students so far, from the Phillipines, Chile and Canada respectively. Hopefully we shall see you in New Haven, Joseph

Like Joseph, I'm also on the waiting list. I've been told that they will be making decisions from the wait list through the course of April and the stop-date is likely to be the end of April when they will conclusively decide whether or not to accept you. Thanks to Bitsou - Joseph & I have a chance.
