Anyone interested?
Yale's LLM program has become too exclusive for its own good. Plenty of stellar candidates give it the miss now instead of wasting the $80 or so on the application (+LSAC fees).
On top of it all they now need a TOEFL from every bloke not from the US of A. That pisses a lot of people off.
Give it a miss, I say and let them go figure!

Very interested but the odds are against it.

You never know... better to apply than wonder what if...

Yes, that's exactly how I feel! I really would love to be in a smaller program with a more academic focus. Yale, Chicago, Stanford- all great programs but the numbers are daunting. I only applied to programs that I would be very enthusiastic about attending. If I'm going to forgo a year of salary, it needs to be for a program that really excites me.

Same here. Well, in this case odds are against anyone.
I wish Yale had a slightly larger class..:) Something like Chicago.

I did apply to Yale, but chances of being admitted are almost non-existent it seems...
But hey, you never know, right?

Similarly, chances of scoring 119 in the toefl are almost non-existent it seems...

I also applied to YLS. Any other Fulbright Scholar applied to YLS?
Not to discourage anyone but, in my opinion, is much much MUCH harder to get into YLS's LLM than to get a 119 or even a perfect score in the TOEFL. There is no level of comparison on the chances.
Best luck to all!

Sure thing about that. I just wanted to convey that I was impressed by his 119 while I merely got 105.
I wonder what's the weight given to Fulbright Scholars. Whether it can make the difference or not.

Supposedly, it helps a little. First of all because being selected a Fulbright scholar usually implies having to compete for just a few spots in your country and being selected among the best. Additionally, Fulbright is the one that sends your application, so they may vouch for you.
Best,
H

Hi Javier,
Fulbright Scholar also here. We still have to wait a while. Probably first or second week of March.
Good luck!

Hi,
Where did you get the information of a 119 TOEFL requirement?
The webpage states only a minimum of 100

I think you misread the message. He was saying he got a 119 in the Toefl, not that it is a requirement.
The requirement in 100, 25 in each subsection.
