It's almost midnight by New Haven local time and the period of YLS's first notification would be over in about 18 hours, considering the trend of the last couple of years. Probably they would make their second phone calls after HLS and SLS's admission be released.

Will there will the second round? I guess they have send out all admission decisions one time~~

I mean, subject to the number of those who do not enroll (maybe who go to HLS or SLS).

haha you mean like waitlisted? I don't know if there is a standby group, Yale is definitely the most mysterious one! no e-mail, no notice for standby group as Chicago does, only the admitted ones know what happened

Yes. say, hidden waitlist kk.. But it is quite true because you may find some apptracker records of the last couple of years which indicated that some YLS's admitted date were after HLS and SLS's notice.

Congratulations to all received the admission call from the most prestigious YLS! I really wish to be got in but have no notice yet. If I would not receive their call until this Friday, it would be peaceful to regard myself as rejected.

So, they do not send rejection emails? Will they respond if we call? I really want to know whether I have a chance....
They wrote in the email "You will be notified of the Graduate Committee's decision on your application in March." Technically, they should convey rejections too!
Till then, the wait continues.....

This really doesn't make any sense. As far as I have noticed, only 2 people received admission from yale on this forum and when I look at previous years' discussions, the number was higher. So I really wonder if they haven't rendered all of the decisions, or maybe people who received the magic phone call do not bother writing here

I dont think people who have got offers have posted here. As it is already mid march, the decisions should be out by now...

I just called Graduate Admissions Office, they say the decisions are not yet final and will be posted by next week through airmail.....So, the long treacherous wait continues for one more week...

OK, I have emailed them few days ago. The answer I got was the following:"Our decisions are typically made sometime in March. However as it now stands, it is unlikely that you will be offered admission for 2013-2014"
So: the accepted ones are already notified. Yes, there is a bit chance for somebody( not me for sure) to get accepted from the short waiting list.
I still wonder whether the personal statement or the recommendation letter ( let say, from former student/president of US) has a heavier impact..!
But let's not forget that there are passengers for each train.
Once again, congrats to the Yale accepted ones, and congrats to the rest "Decent Schools" accepted ones.

Thank you very much for sharing this info. Most Yale applicants have very good profiles, therefore I am sure that we will all end up in great schools if not Yale : )

Well, I chose Berkeley already. It seems that you were accepted in Cambridge, which fact would be rated and placed on a higher position compared to Yale acceptance.
