Since I started some of this criticism of the AUAP rankings, I'll weigh in again. I'm a practicing attorney in the USA, and I can say with some certainty that few people here have heard of the AUAP rankings. US News owns the rankings racket. And while I remain very skeptical of rankings for a number of reasons, any rankings system that ranks Fordham over Yale will not carry weight with hiring partners at USA law firms. Fordham students may, in reality, learn as much as their Yale counterparts, but no one with a sound mind would rank Fordham over Yale. To be frank, I would not be surprised if a majority of hiring partners in some parts of the country (e.g. outside the Northeast) could not even tell you where Fordham is located. It is a regional law school, whereas Yale is one of the finest law schools in the country. I do not say this to "knock" Fordham; I just don't want some unsuspecting foreign student to get hoodwinked here. Yale is better than Fordham. Period.
