In the letter of scholarship (Vanderbilt/Grotius/Deans), they are saying, the scholarships are first come, fist serve, so either accept our financial aid offer immediately or it goes to someone else. Does any one know it is true that they will forfeit the aid if someone did not answer in appropriate time? What's the chance of losing it? Dose anybody know certain previous experience?
When to answer NYU Scholarship?

Last year many students lost it! They send out letters to several people but apparently allot them 'regionwise' - if anyone else from the region races you to the accept the same, they gain it! Please note if you loose the schol, you find yourself in a situation where you get nothing. Nada!
But for these schols, NYU offers no aid. If money is an impt constraint, it is prudent to accept the same asap....

last 2006-2007 academic year: there were only 7 Grotius scholars, 21 Vanderbilt scholars and 10 Hauser scholars. does this mean that only 38 slots are up for grabs again this year?
