Hi, I am an undergraduate without any working experience. However, I am extremely interested in international humanitarian law and aim at working in different human rights insitutions.
MY GPA is expected to be 3.0 but I have extra curricular activites like founding an NGO, organising many volunteer trips to developing countries, internships to different large human right institutions(such as Asian Human Rights Commission or HUman Rights in CHina). I probably would help an NGO with a research paper about AIDS.
So which law school in USA should I apply? Do you think if I wanna get into Georgetown or COlumbia, are these enough...it seems that my resume is quite different from others.......(given that i seldome take internship in la w firm, etc.)
Thanks!
Wanna know which university emphasis more on extra curricular activies more...

Cambridge, Columbia, NYU, Edinburgh. I would apply to these schools, and in this order, for the programme you suggest.

Equity's Darling, thanks for your advice!!
But there are several matters of concerns.
1. Cambridge requires GPA more than 3.4.
2. My extra curricular activities(like NGO stuff, volunteer trip, etc.) seems not to be technically that 'human rights'
3. I am interested in international humanitairan laws ONLY and no interest in the others.
4. I wanna travel around the world and probably work in ICC, Africa, Bosnia-Herzegovinia, those war torn conflict regions etc.
5. In addition, do you know whether University Essex is good or not? Some of my shcool professors graduate from that school and has a great future(as she is now)
Unlike the others, I do not have intention to stay in developed countries at all. hahaha

If you are only interesting in international humanitarian law then I am not sure why you would want to do any LLM since that would involve taking outside of that specialization.
You may want to consider the human rights scholarship at Columbia for the LLM. That would take into account your extra curricular activities.
I have no idea about Essex.
Leiden is apparently good for international law and easier to get into than some other places.

I guess that LLM is essential if I wanna involve in reseach work. Uusally, LLM programme has specialisation as well. Even taking other courses to enhance my knowledge in other area is great as well.
I have just had a look at Columbia University...the human right scholarship(fellowship)requries you to have two years working experience.....
This does mean that with a GPA 3.0 and the extra curricular activites, I probably could not get into University of Columbia, NY law school, etc.
Can yo adivce me on other choices in US taht involve LLM specialisation in human right?
Thanks!

What about Geneva?
