I applied to a few places and have four offers so far but I have made my decision to go to Vanderbilt and would love to meet anyone in the same position and also those still awaiting their admission decision:)

Congratulations faaf64! Have you made up your mind which of these schools would be your first choice?

Thank you mdm31! It ended up being more of my following my heart than anything else since both schools are very good, prestigious and consistently rank similarly (GULC #13 and VLS #15-16 according to US News). Both schools also offer lots of courses that I find interesting. I am more keen on going to a smaller school, I like the "everyone knows everyone" atmosphere that seems to be the case at Vanderbilt. Also, I've found their admissions staff to be extremely helpful and approachable. Have you decided where to go?

If i'm accepted in Upenn, Duke or Chicago I would probably go to one of the three.

However, the decision will be hard if im only accepted in gtown and vanderbilt. Which one is better since they are both similarly ranked?

I am sure you will have a great time at VLS! I am still waiting for Chicago, Upenn, SLS and NYU. So far, I would accept CLS' offer.

I actually made just that decision about a week ago and decided to go for Vanderbilt for the reasons stated in my previous reply. After trying to come to an objective decision so to speak, I realized I was better off making the decision based on where I thought I would be happiest...in terms of environment, the size of the school and other things like that. If cost is important to you, Nashville seems to be considerably more cost effective than DC when is comes to housing. For me, the fact that Nashville is an extremely musical city (thus the nickname Music City) also helped me in my decision since I spend most of my free time singing :)

Sorry for not being able to offer better insight, good luck with everything!

Hi everybody, I received the admission offer from Vanderbilt yesterday. I'm still waiting for some schools replies before to take a decision. Also in my opinion Vanderbilt sounds like a really friendly and low profile place and it will influence for sure my decision. Moreover, Vandy seems to be very affordable in terms of living cost and it is really important too.
I would like to concentrate my studies in business-corporate law, what about you?

-will graduate from law school in a foreign country in July. About 3.5 GPA.
-110 TOEFL
-I have been working in the largest law firm of my country for the past two years as a paralegal.
-Part of the law journal of my university, participated in the JESSUP competition, among other things.

That's a good profile. I will like to think that the fact you work in a renoun firm in the latter part of your Law degree will positively influence your application, particularly if you have an upward grade trend. Did you receive any info about scholarship?

I submitted my application in mid november, received an email to confirm my complete application on december 31 and admission offer on january 7.
-I graduated in 2009 (I do not know GPA but it was 29 on 30 on my country's scale)
- toelf 97
- almost 3 years as in-house counsel in a multinational company;
- almost four years as town councillor in my hometown;
- 10 years of volunteer activities in my community
As far af scholarship concern, I understood that Vanderbilt takes into account all the applicants and provides support on a need basis. Anyway, I have not received any scholarship

@mdm31: I'm sure I will, too :) Good luck with your applications, hope you get into CLS!

@davidz: Congratulations! I applied to and was accepted to the Law & Business track, my main focus will be corporate and financial law also and maybe I'll take some IP/entertainment law courses if I can. So if you decide to enrol at VLS me might have some classes together!

@Julius Caesar: My application was completed on Oct. 23 and I received my admissions offer on Nov. 9.

Regarding scholarships, all admitted students are considered for both need and merit-based scholarships, and according to the information I got from the admissions office the scholarship committee starts making their decisions in January. VLS's website states this process begins in February though, but I guess in any case they will be sending out the first scholarship offers soon.

I sent an email to the admissions department and they replied saying the admissions committee can take up to 12 weeks to review a completed file, although the decision can be made much sooner.

Were you admitted? When was your application complete? Mine was complete about three weeks ago and I still haven't heard a word from them. I have no experience with the Skype interview but I guess they want to know your level of competence in English. Don't take my word for it.
