Just wanted to say hello to everyone that applied to UT. Good luck! I only applied to UT, so I am getting impatient and cannot wait to her about their decision. I wonder how long it will take them to have an answer, hopefully not that long. Well, good luck to everyone!

I received an (apparently automated) acceptance e-mail a couple of hours ago. An acceptance letter will follow by mail.
I would interested in hearing if anyone received any scholarship information.

Hi Spikee,
Same here, no word on funding, either. They did write though that we will be receiving an email from the LL.M. Program Coordinator so maybe this will shed some light on the funding matter.
Gratz for getting in (though this is most probably not your top choice). May I ask whether your wife applied and was admitted as well? (Just in terms of how many Germans did they take...)
Bye Miss C.

Same here, automated e-mail of admission by UT this morning. In one hour and half I have the phone interview with Boston U though. If I get admitted there, I will turn their offer down. Good luck!

Hey Miss C,
you certainly read my posts thoroughly. :-) Congrats to you, too! My wife has not heard, yet, which surprises and worries me a little.
You are right about the e-mail. Lets wait and see.
You are also right about UT not being my first choice (although with decision coming in and all the variables to consider I am not even sure anymore what my top choices are...). However, at the moment it all depends on how much funding the law schools are willing to offer. And I have a feeling, Harvard, NYU or Chicago will not be too generous. ;-) So UT definitely is in the race!

Congrats to all of you. Now I am getting a little bit nervous because I didn't receive the email, but we'll see. I am hoping that they concentrate on sending acceptance emails to lawyers that do not hold a degree from the US, and then they send the acceptance email to lawyers from the US. Anyway, congratulations and I hope you guys get admitted to all the schools you want to go.

Can anyone tell me or post here how does the body of the acceptance email looks like?
cheers!!

Its really only a generated e-mail. Its states your name and address and then follows:
It is my great pleasure to inform you that your file has been reviewed by the Graduate Admissions Committee and we are offering you admission to the LL.M. Class of 2011-2012 at the University of Texas School of Law.
Your official admission letter should arrive by mail in about 2 to 3 weeks. Once you receive the letter, your admission offer is official.
The University of Texas International Office website will be quite helpful with information regarding visa information, housing, immunization requirements, health insurance and more. Please see their website at:
http://www.utexas.edu/international
You will receive an email from the LL.M. Program Coordinator in a few days with instructions on the steps you will need to accept our offer of admission. If you have any questions regarding your acceptance, do not hesitate to contact our LL.M. Program Coordinator at LLM@law.utexas.edu.
Congratulations again on your admission and we look forward to meeting you in the fall!
Sincerely,

i received email from UT too and also from the LL.M. Program Coordinator.... have any of you heard about scholarship yet??
Posted Mar 01, 2011 16:07
You are referring tot he e-mail suggesting freshlaw, correct? I was expecting the e-Mail from the LL.M. program coordinator to be a bit more informative (especially concerning scholarships). Other than this one message and the admission decision I have not heard yet and am waiting anxiously.

To be really honest and what I have known from the past they do offer money but the amounts aren't that high. Around US$10,000 , US$5,000. Still it is very good!

Regarding the speaking to current students/alumni bit you can find information in the freshlaw LL.M. document. Apparently same for housing although the forum seems to have been widely ignored so far so not much info available. I too got the standard email with no word on funding yet. 10,000 USD is not bad imho considering that both tuition and living costs are much lower than f.i. at UCLA which is in a tie position with UT rankingwise. But we shall see...

Congratulations, PabloE! Just saw you got your UT Admission. That's good news. :)

Thank you Miss Chatterbox, I had already made up my mind that I was going to be rejected, so the email on my phone at 5 in the morning was a great surprise. I was accepted to the Global energy, International Arbitration, Environmental Law program, but this profile doesn't have that option to check. I am excited, congratulations to you and everyone that was admitted and hope to see you in the Fall.

I recevied the letter last evening.. now news about funding yet..
I have a question - Would the school let me change the area of specalization.. i am currently enrolled for the US law for foreign lawyers and would like to change to Energy law.. would any of you know if the school would allow change of spacalization now or after enrollment in the course?
