I got this email yesterday

"After careful consideration of your application and supporting documents, the International Programs Committee has concluded that it will not be possible to admit you for post-graduate legal study at Penn Law. Competition for the LL.M. Program is very keen and the Committee admits only a few select applicants each year.

We appreciate the interest you have shown in this program and regret that we could not take favorable action upon your application. Unfortunately, Law School policy does not permit us to revisit individual applications or the basis of the Committee's evaluation of them.

I am certain that your past achievements and future promise will continue to lead you to success. We wish you success in your future endeavors in legal education.

I'm in too. Now I have to decide between Penn and Duke...

Can anyone tell me what was addmission emial was like?

My acceptance e-mail begins as follows:

"I write to offer my personal congratulations upon your acceptance into the University of Pennsylvania LLM Class of 2009.

Along with the International Programs Committee, I had the privilege of reviewing your file prior to its approval. This year's applicant pool was among the largest and most talented we have ever seen since Penn Law began an LLM program for foreign-trained lawyers in the 19th century. The accomplishments you presented to us were, even in the context of that group, highly impressive".

I got deferred as well. Optimistic- Any luck?

I am in the regular pool so have heard nothing from Penn so far. However, I have the hunch that most people admitted to Penn Law in the early review cycle probably will reject its admission eventually because these people are also very likely to receive admissions from other schools that they might prefer to Penn (e.g. Harvard, Stanford...). There should be seats available...

Is there anyone who has applied in the early notification and has still not recieved any intimation from Penn ?

I am in the regular pool so have heard nothing from Penn so far. I want to thank you personally and on behalf of all those applicants deferred to the regular pool and waiting for a decision!! Your attitude should be a paradigm to be copied for all the others already admitted students that have decided to reject their acceptance! As far as I am concerned, I have also rejected GWs and UVAs offer hoping other applicants benefit from my rejections. Good luck to all of us guys!
