Updates on Columbia?

I got an email yesterday saying that I was admitted to the LL.M. Program in Columbia. I am still under consideration for the J.S.D. Program. Last week I received an email with my rejection in the associates-in-law program.
Now, I am waiting for an answer from Harvard, Yale and Chicago. I am also expecting answers about my application for Ph.D. programs in Economics (Columbia and Yale).
My subject area is Law and Economics - does anyone have an opinion about this specialization in those Universities?

Everybody I know who is interested in Law & Economics have Chicago as one of their favorite options.

hey i too applied on 15 dec deadline...but i havent recieved any email from CLS...have they started sendin out rejection mails? im gettin rather restless
Posted Feb 26, 2007 12:06
I know..Read some of the earlier posts here and i was wondering why i havent heard from them as yet. quite unsettleing isnt it ?oh well, lets keep our fingers (and toes) crossed !

If you read the earlier postings, some have also received rejection emails. From what I can deduce from all of the postings, Columbia works on a rolling basis, so basically as soon as they evaluate a file they release their decision to the applicant. It probably just takes so long since they have tons of applications to go through. Very nervewracking indeed!

i havent got any news from CLS...
nor a rejection nor acceptance...
no news good news? im feeling kinda of desperate.

I would not be worried with the long time to got an answer from Columbia. In my case was clearly that they operate in a rolling basis.
It seems to me that your chances are not related to the time they take to answer you.
Good luck for all you.

Guys,
I do not know how fast CLS will send its decisions this year, but last year some applicants got their admission/rejection in early May.

I recived an offer from Cambridge 2 weeks ago. However no news from Calumbia or NYU since the confirmation of my application 1st week of january. It seems that UK law schools are faster than US law schools. :)

Hey Istanboulyote! Congrats! Cambridge is a great school and I have two friends who went there and were very satisfied.
It is possible that UK schools are faster, but they probably have less applications than US schools. I am sure that you will be notified soon!
Best.

I got a request for an additional professional reference from CLS. Does that mean they are still considering applicants?

Have only the early review candidates heard from CLS yet or have those who applied in December also received offers? Mind, I got my "application complete" mail only on Feb 16.
