FYI, I received my admission from UCLA this morning (actually yesterday night but with the jet lag, I opened my e-mails this morning).

Congrats, me too.
At first, I thought it wasn't a coincidence and that the fact that I asked them several times about my case had some effect (like puting it a litlle higher on the pile) and it was a second round (although this question hasn't really been answered).
But after all, since Michaeeel received it too maybe they're just getting started...

It was true in the past. In their 2005-2006 prospectus, they claim they want to extend the LL.M class to 30-40 students.

Does anyone know if it's it true UCLA only takes about 10 LLM students/ year?
Those are tough odds!
I applied in Jan. and haven't heard yet....
Congrats to those already admitted!
I have not received any information too.

Regarding UCLA admissions, I received my admissions last week. I applied in early Sept and didn't heard anything from them. So I decided to email them two weeks ago asking about my status and when the results would be out. The next day I received an admission email
Emailing them worked for me. So give it a try (for those who are still in dark and are dying to know). Good luck people!

I am an English law graduate and have done several internships in London and in Asia. I am very interested in working in California after pursuing an LLM programme at UCLA. But I have no idea on what employers in US law firms in California are looking for. Does anyone know what the legal market is like in California? Do US law firms recruit international LLM students and if so, when should I apply?

I emailed UCLA and got their reply immediately. They stated that decisions will be sent in April or May ( I think maybe it's the 2nd round since some lucky guys have received their adm), and they expect to have about 45 LLM students this fall.

I got the admission last week. now the only challenge to me is the high tuition and expenses.
I browsed their websites and knew they have some TA jobs. is there anybody who knows about the details like how many places they offer each year and the amount and selection criteria?

45 LLMs? So many students this year? Really?

I understand that UCLA is growing their class in part because they got so many good applications this year. I think a bigger class is better, more people to know. that may explain why it is taking them a while to get answers out. also, they had a deadline later than other schools (march 1) which is probably why decisions are coming a little later. I was told most decisions will come in april and that emailing them to ask for special attention would not help. it's a great school in a great city. good luck!

Hi yesboalt! Please excuse for my digression. But your Nickname is quite interesting to me. Does that mean UC-Berkeley is your first selection? I believe the weather in CA is better than anywhere else.

Hello keyif
I was surprised to be told about the weather as I never took that into consideration when applying. But to think about it the climate is something that you should consider about!
Anyway, UCLA is a really good school and the staff members are all extremely nice and friendly!! But there are a few professors at boalt that I really want to study under and I also have trouble ignoring the US news rankings so yes I put boalt as my first choice.
Where do you want to go to?
Good Luck
