the financial burden

Hi guys,
I have got admitted into Umich, NYU,GWU and SMU, unfortunately no scholarship in any of them. Since the financial aid is a critical factor of my pursuing a LLM, now I am really a little regret of having turned down NYU@NUS with a 35,000 scholarship. It turns out I was over-optimistic at the begining. Is it possible that there are still some position and funds opening of the NYU@NUS program, and can I explain to them my financial situation and ask to be accepted again? If not, is anyone considering paying the tuition of American law schools by loan? I also did some research of loan programs, such as that of citibank to international students without a co-signer, but the interest rate seems absurd. What should I do? I really appreciate your advice.

Hi,
I'm in the same boat as you. I'd like to attend NYU, but the tuition and living expenses are really high and I'm afraid to take such a huge loan.
To my opinion, it depends on whether you have any job prospects.
I think you should also write them and ask about NYU@NUS and make a research on loan options in your home country. The interest rate may be substantially lower.

Thank you! It is hard for me to say taking a huge loan to pursue a LLM degree is not a huge risk. Do think twice before you decide. Good luck :)

Hi celia07, were are you from? It's very expensive for a normal person non USA-citizen to afford the cost of only one year in an USA- UNI. i'd like too...but at the moment it's impossible. And I think it will continue so. I haven't understand well what's happened to you...you had the possibility to pay or not? I'm thinking to have an american LLM but I really don't know if I will have the chance to spend it for a good opportunity of carreer....this factor is the most important...either to subscribe a loan.
