Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could tell me if my results during my study abroad/exchange will have an impact on any LL.M. application? My grades will only count towards credits and not my final honours. Thanks in advance for any help!

I had two different scholarships to carry out a semester in Spain and a second one in southern Brazil. I think these experiences themselves have a specific weight on your application, but I'm honestly not able to reply to your question about grades. I think it's an asset though. best of luck!

That's interesting! I'm currently on exchange in Germany myself.

honestly, I thought you were American crimlawyer...I won a scholarship to spend a semester studying at UCS, in Caxias do Sul. I loved my time in Brazil, and I'm trying my best to get a job there with some international organization afterwards... Now I'm working for the EC at its delegation in the US...could be a good idea to keep with such an employer! wish you all the best. I think I'll be contacted from both Duke and NW before Christmas. In any case, I'll keep you updated! good afternoon

I am Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro. But I know Caxias do Sul and most of the southern part of the country. My stepdad shot a film in Caxias and the nearby region. It is called "O Quatrilho".
I think you are applying to Columbia as I am. Who knows if we are not going to be colleagues there?
In the meantime let us be nervous with this month of december, which will certainly be one of the longest of my life...

I can easily understand and share your feeling about trustfully wait for hearing from the universities you've applied to, and I still think they take far too long to give us a response...sorry to disappoint, but I didn't apply either to Columbia or NYU as I'm aware I'll not be able to live in NYC...too noisy for me...overall I've applied to 8 universities, with HLS my first choice, as it's at least 5 years that I dream about Harvard night and day...bõa sorte então carioca!
