I just got mine about an hour ago. It goes:
"Although the Committee on Graduate Studies recognizes your fine record of achievement, we sincerely regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the LL.M. program in Corporate Governance & Practice at Stanford Law School.
It is never a pleasant task to advise that an application has not been accepted, but we are much encouraged by the fact that our applicants are so well qualified that most will gain admission to one of the many other fine LL.M. programs around the country. We hope that this will be true in your case and wish you every success in your law studies.
Sincerely,"

I got accepted a week ago but still nothing from NYU. These people are idiots. I was accepted to CLS and Stanford and for NYU I am not good enough? What do they think that I will wait for them forever?
Posted Mar 18, 2010 15:44
WTF?
You should send them the following email:
"I would like to thank you in advance for your coming letter offering admissions. Due to the large number of highly qualified schools offering me graduate admissions for the 2010-2011 academic year, competition was intense. Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that your offer of admissions was not successful.
I wish New York University the best of luck in its future endeavors."

They are not idiots, YOU ARE. I applied really early and I haven't heard from them either. They have their own system and if you're not OK with it, then write to them. You obviously consider yourself too good for NYU anyway so why wait for them? Go ahead with your top-of-the-world offers and make some peace with that.

I have a financial problem and therefore if NYU had given me a scholarship I would have preferred them over CLS and Stanford... I just do not have US$100K to spend... What can you do?

Being admitted to Columbia and Stanford does not mean you should be granted a scholarship at NYU. I know many applicants (this year and the previous years) who were and have been granted generous scholarships by NYU and a few financial aid by Columbia. Their profiles are all very impressive. I just want to make my point that being admitted to one school cannot be used as a standard that one should also be admitted to another lower-ranking school not to mention with scholarship. Most of the people I know whose credentials are impressive enough to get the scholarships didn't even apply to Stanford. You should probably be grateful that they didn't, otherwise you might have been left with just Columbia with no financial aid.
Please don't get me wrong, I totally understand your financial concern. I actually could do with some financial assistance myself. But calling NYU staffs idiots is way out of line.
Cheers

I ain't gonna fight with you as it is not my way. Please note however that I was accepted to all the schools that I applied to with the exception of NYU. I guess that after all I am not that bad....I got accepted a week ago but still nothing from NYU. These people are idiots. I was accepted to CLS and Stanford and for NYU I am not good enough? didn't you get job offer at NY? you also got substantial $$ from UCLA. These multi good choices shouldn't get you so snippy - from common sense.
You must be good enough, being admitted by so many prestigious schools, but you lag a lot behind in conducting yourself - by teasing others going to Hastings in another post. a lawyer, or even a common man, must be big enough in mind.
