Stanford IELBP Cancellation

Hi all,
I thought I would start a new thread on the IELBP cancellation situation. Did anyone respond to the e-mail?

Not yet, but I definitely will - this is simply a matter of disrespect to the applicants who have wasted a significant amount of time and efforts to apply to SLS.
I will let you know their response.

I sent an email yesterday, but they didn't reply.

Same for me, send them an e-mail and waiting for a response...

Whether it is a joke or not it is so unprofessional of them to do things like that. If it is for real than they waited until March 31 to provide this information! Unbelievable! You people should go to other schools that have some respect

Very unprofessional of them to wait until March 31 to send an email about cancellation.
I have emailed them asking about the procedure for refund and whether they would be refunding the $16 dollar for the lsac report in addition to the application fee. No reply as yet.

Sure, they have to refund us the 16 dollars as well.

I have e-mailed LSAC to ask whether they knew about this. I will let you know when I hear from them.

I suppose they should have apologised in the first instance. "Regretfully informing" us that they have waited until the very last moment to cancel the program is obviously not good enough.
Posted Apr 03, 2012 16:24
I totally agree. a complete waste of time. please let us know if someone hears from them.
thanks
thanks

It is more than clear that is not a joke, what was a joke (or a lie) is that some people said that they were admitted to a cancelled program! I am really disappointed with SLS, and the refund will not compensate the loss of time and effort.

No response from SLS yet. Anyone?

You guys, you guys, I figured it out, you guys!!
I just contact LSAC to tell them that there is no such thing as "Stanford Law School". Instead, this so called Stanford University has been scamming people for 121 years for the 5-month interest of those $125 (of course back in 1891 it was a quarter). If I wouldn't have applied for "SLS", I would be a lot richer now (about $ 143 = 125+16+approx. interest) and I would have a few more days of my life that I would have probably wasted on something else than that application.
Also:
- waiting until March 31st to send out that mail
- sending out those mails on a Saturday
- no apology, instead just "writing to inform"
- they wanted to get the information to us as quickly as possible? Well that didn't work out...
Finally, I believe that a little bit of indiscreetness wouldn't be wrong. I mean what unexpected developments? Legionella? Woudn't they tell people earlier because otherwise one could have argued that a change of the applications from IELBP to CGP/TS should be considered..
Of course this is good news to most people, including myself - hands down - what was the admission rate again?
On a serious note: anyone got the application fee reimbursed yet? A childish voice in my head tells me not to believe any of this until the refund has been put through..

I changed my opinion of stanford...

I called the admission office just now and was told that they would take about 4-6 weeks to process the refund. However, the lady on the phone was not sure how the refund would be made. Also, the 16 dollars for the lsac report would not be refunded.
After speaking to the lady at the admission office i'm even sure if the refund would be made. Do post if anyone receives any new info.

I cant believe this! I was still waiting for Stanford's answer since I also received the e-mail as spam and didn't saw it until I read your posts! What a disappointment, it is clear that you dont expect this kind of attitudes from a top Law School ...

You are [not] sure whether or not there will be a refund? That would be so awesome, in that case I should really start telling people that there is no such thing as Stanford and that its just a huge scam..
Anyway, this has been pretty disappointing - disenchanting to be exact - hasn't it now?

The reason I say this is because she seemed clueless about how the refund would work (charge back to the credit card, cheque etc.). Also, whats weird is that the status on the application status check hasnt changed. Somehow these things dont add up.

So Stanford University is having difficultes with something that every third-class webshop is able to do a thousand times a week? Interesting...
