Are there even any second calls or are you already out if you didn't get a call for CG&P yet?

For the Brazilians: someone already received a call for ELP.

To be honest I have some difficulties to understand why they are calling LLM candidates. The only reasons I see so far is that they want to check if you can have a conversation in English (what are your toefl's score?). Every students applying at Stanford are very motivated and in light of the questions they are asking, I don't really see how it can help them to decide whether they have to accept you or not...
Any other Inside information would be most welcome :)

To be honest I have some difficulties to understand why they are calling LLM candidates.
The personal contact makes it slightly more difficult for most (though not all) applicants to decline the offer and pick another school. Asking the applicants a few questions increases the bond to Standford as you have worked 'harder' to get into the school and thus a stronger bond is formed between you and the university.
Additionally, the stronger bond does not only prevent a few students from accepting other offers, but also will enhance the sense of pride of those who got in.

Or it's simply what most interviews are about: Stanford wants to find out if you fit in as a person :p

hi, based on previous year experience, does anyone know when IELBP applicants have the possibility to receive the interview call?
I applied IELBP, and looking forward to updated news on enrollment...

I have the same doubt.
Do we have news about new phone calls?

Any calls today?
Posted Feb 27, 2018 21:22
Nothing here. I assume that the phone calls for the CGP program already finished.

Does anyone know when they stop calling candidates for all programs, and when they start sending acceptance/rejection emails? Would be great to know how many more days we all have to wait.

Apparently, last year's admission email for CG&P went out *today*(28th of February) as per last year discussion. I don't know if this year is going to be the same, but given that the calls have been ~similar, we could expect it by this week or the following, I think (again, for CG&P).

Guys, please share if you receive any calls!

Hey guys! Does any one have any news on the IELBP front?
Posted Mar 01, 2018 11:18
Yeah suddenly everything seems to have gone silent. Any news on LST?
Posted Mar 01, 2018 11:23
Nope! Hopefully we will be hearing from them before IELBP (according to the order in which programs are presented on the SLS website).

Important information guys: I have just spoken to a friend who is now attending an LLM at SLS and she told me that not all admitted students receive calls... So, don't worry if you did not receive a call, you may still receive an email with an offer! ;)

Many thanks for the info. Do you know the background / reason why some applicants receive calls and others not?
