Just to let you know that I have just received an email informing me of my acceptance to the SLS LL.M. program in Envt'l Law & Policy.

Congratulations Zuzu! I have been wait listed for the ELP at Stanford... so fingers crossed. I actually also had just started a trend here!
Could you share a brief summary of your credentials?
I imagine you are enrolling!

Congratulations! Do any of you know the difference of the LLM and the SPILS? I had applied to the SPILS thinking that it would give me more discretion in selecting courses.

Congratulation, guys! I also applied to ELP, though haven't received any email so far.. was your application status changed? Mine is "application has been submitted for review". If I am rejected, are they going to send rejection notification?
Posted Feb 12, 2014 23:12
Hi Gingerella,
Actually my status has not changed. It is the same as your's. I received an email from Faye Deal, so I imagine you will be receiving a similar one.
Do you have any other alternatives other than SLS?

Congratulations guys! I am surprised to see results are out. I have applied to the corporate programme but based on your posts I suppose it is just the ELP for now. Has anyone heard from the CG&P?
Posted Feb 12, 2014 23:18
Well, I assume that as I haven't received any email so far it means rejection. I read in one of the previous threads that they do not notify those who are rejected...
As to other alternatives - I applied to several universities, but haven't got a response yet.

Guys, ZuZu and jcv, do you mind sharing your background info?
Posted Feb 12, 2014 23:37
I think it would be much more interesting to know Zuzu's background... considering I am only WL.
Anyhow.... I have an LLB equivalent from the best University of my Country (ranked between 100 and 300 worldwide depending on the ranking). I graduated in the top half of the class but with very good grades in the most important courses. Have been a teaching assistant in 3 different topics.
Since then, been working for 3 years at a boutique law firm specialized in regulated industries.
Couple of minor publications and speeches in forums on energy efficiency and renewables.
That's pretty much it.
Hope it helps!! Let see if that waitlist moves!!

Jcv, thanks for sharing! Hope waitlist will move and you will get admitted!
I'm wondering if it makes sense to email them and inquire about my app status? I mean that ELP program is not huge and I don't think that sending out all admission and w/l decisions would take the entire day. So basically all who got through most likely have already received their emails...
I'm not sure about my chances.. I've graduated from one of the top law schools in my country, LSAC evaluated my performance as superior, though we do not have ranking system so it's hard to say. Got two references - one form professor, one from former employer (didn't want to bother current employer as in the law firms they are not happy when someone is asking for 1 year off). Have more than 10 years experience in total, 3 years in international organizations (mostly related to int public law) and more than 7 years in one of the major international law firms - mostly specializing in energy and env law issues. Unfortunately, I don't have publications (I mean, I have them but I didn't mention them since they were mostly on other irrelevant legal issues). TOEFL 111.
I think it was my mistake not to ask for a reference from my current employer...

Hi, ZuZu, Congratulations. I received an email informing that I was in the wait list. Could you pls advise when you need to reply to SLS about your decision? I want to evaluate if I have any chance to get admitted from the wait list. Thank you very much.

Anybody who has applied to the LST program and heard from Stanford?
Posted Feb 13, 2014 05:37
Congrats.
In previous years SPILS was the first one to hear back right? Should we assume that SPILS students have already heard a decision?
Is it really true that SLS does not provide rejection emails?

So still nothing right? On all fronts? Corp., SPILS, IP, Env.? It seemed like there was something starting early last week and it kinda died there.. Hopefully this week will bring with it decisions for all of us??
