Dear Friends,
Hi! My friend has got admission for LLM in Temple University, Philadelpia. When requested for financial aid decisions, they have written that the financial aid decisions would be given from April 2nd week onwards; that competition is very high and that there are a large number of deserving candidates. While sending admission confirmation letter, they have sent "Eligibility to Application for I-20 Visa" and directed to send US$ 200 towards seat deposit while enclosing the above "Eligibility to Application for I-20 Visa". The above amount as well as the Eligibility to Application for I-20 should reach before 26th April to confirm the seat.
My friend is an economically poor person and is striving hard to obtain loan from bankers and the process may take some time.
He could attend the law school only if some financial aid or scholarship is granted. After deducting the said amount, he could get some loan from bankers for the remaining amount.
1) My question is whether he should show total amount in his eligibility application to I-20 Visa (which he maynot be in a position to show because of meager finances) or not?
2) If he is unable to procure the required finances, whether he is eligible to request for "deferral" to next year or not?
For that "deferral", whether he should pay the seat deposit of 200 US$ or without payment also, he is eligible?
3) Whether for considering for "financial aid/ scholarship" it is a condition precedent that he should pay the seat deposit of US$ 200.
Thanking you and awaiting your kind answers
