I mean UC Berkeley is ranking the sixth on the U.S News..
So the school rank before sixth are all cannot offered me a seat...

No, I know someone who was rejected from Berkeley but admitted to Harvard.

Hope so fellow, as I'm your shoes. Admitted to Duke, Northwestern and Cornell, but rejected from Berkeley. Still waiting for Chicago and Harvard, while Yale I already gave up without even hearing from them...keep me posted and wish you the best!

@stagista: you can consider yourself so lucky with Duke, NW and Cornell! With the applications its mostly just luck... you never know what a particular school is looking for. And probably you will be accepted by HLS and this rejection won't matter anymore. Just don't give up on it like on yale.

thank you map2009. with regard to Yale, I gave up only 'cause last year all the admission offers were out on March 8. 25 spots are easy to fill up...however, until I don't get the rejection mail I'm still on game...may I ask where do you plan to go? any admission other than Berkeley?

Actually i plan to go to the UofMinnesota... but I never thought of getting accepted into Berkeley... but still its just a financial thing, if I don't get financial aid from Berkeley I don't have to spend any time thinking over it. I applied to CLS and NYU, HLS and SLS...too but am not planing to go there except they would grant me a generous tuition waiver.
Money stinks... :)

Map, congrats in you acceptance! if you dont mind, could you tell me why you prefer UofMinnesota instead of Boalt (or all other)? Sorry for the curiosity, just would like to know how you reasoned the ranks, reputation (and all other aspects) and came to this decision... Btw, do you also think a lower rank with tuition is better than a higher sticker price? (besides the factor that money really stinks...)

Somebody told me that Berkeley is extremely expensive because housing and finance items beyond tuition are between the least affordable worldwide...is it really?
