I am now doing my master programme with Oxford for the following year. Considering some factors of my family, however, I am thinking about going to the States for another LL.M degree, in particular, with Harvard. As the deadline of application of HLS is 15 Dec. on which no exams or scores I can take, I am not sure whether the Oxford programme will carry any weight on my application then. Does anyone have similar experience? What the chances are? Thanks!

Hello,
I just did exactly the same thing this year - i.e. went to Oxford, applied to Harvard whilst I was there, and then went to Harvard (I just arrived this week). I asked just this question to the admissions people at Harvard at the time I was applying and they made clear that it wasn't a problem - that they knew well the structure of the academic year in the UK, and so wouldn't hold it against me that I didn't have any Oxford grades at the time I applied. I wouldn't worry about it at all!
Best of luck,
P
