Post-JD, Pre-LLM Summer Associateship?

bobloblaw

I'm currently a rising 3L at a US law school (i.e., summer before the last year of my JD program) and plan to do a tax LLM immediately post-JD.

I was wondering if anyone spent their post-JD, pre-LLM summer doing a summer associateship (while either delaying the bar to post-LLM or working and studying at the same time). If so, would you mind sharing your experiences? I'm not sure it's something firms even do, but I figured I'd ask?

Thanks!

I've never heard of this and I think it would be a bad idea, since you would be applying for post-LLM jobs without having passed the Bar in any state. Go ahead and take the Bar immediately after JD.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. I know a few firms that do post-JD, pre-clerkship SAs. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
