Never seen 150 people in a class at NYU. The talk about the size of NYU´s program is ok, but when you take the classes, the size of the class will depend on the demand (after all, JDs are there as well), available spots, kind of course (ordinary course/ seminar). Personally, I have been in classes with 70 classmates and in classes with 15 classmates, being the average around 35-50.

Regarding your question, it is an accepted fact in this forum that when you compare a higher-ranked and a lower-ranked school, the burden of proof lies with the lower-ranked one. Therefore, in order to take a decision you should take into account: specialization, future plans, financial factors, prestige in your home country, etc. I don´t think size matters that much because at the end of the day, it is likely that you will have 35-50 classmates wherever you go.

I know I have been criticized for saying this before but if you only have 9 months in the US, where would you rather be - North Carolina or New York City?

I am not saying Duke is better, but I do know people go to Duke over NYU b/c they dont like NYC (and too expensive). So it really depends on what kind of life you enjoy more (only consider the city) :)
