NYU LLM 2019-2020 Applicants

I’m really worried I was admitted, but I did not receive an email to this impact scholarship. What does this mean? Anyone knows if this scholarship is open for everyone? If yes, please send the link. Thanks.

I didn't receive the impact scholarship email either. What track did you apply for? I am corporate track.

Hi. From my understanding (and from the email received from NYU), I believe that the scholarship email was forwarded to students who had expressed interest the area of research that the Grunin Center focuses on. The Grunin Center at NYU focuses its research on impact investments and social entrepreneurship. In my personal statement, I had stressed on my interest in impact investments. I'm not sure about the others, but I guess that was the reason why I received the email to apply for this scholarship.

replies are much since the beginning of March, has anyone been admitted to the corporation law LLM since? I have to pay a deposit by April 1 and I am really getting anxious about sending a request to expedite my application

When will NYU notify us the result of rejection? I should decide whether to proceed enrollment process of other law school by April 1st, but there is no response from NYU.

I am in the same boat here.

Hi Everyone,

I'm an applicant from India. Have received admission offers from NYU (IBRLA) on 29th Jan and Columbia (General) on 14th Feb. Columbia has however denied offering financial aid, while NYU is still considering it. Few questions that you can help me with:

1) Has anyone received a decision on their financial aid request from NYU?
2) Which school to choose from, in terms of better job prospects?

Honestly, there isn't too much of a difference between NYU and Columbia in terms of quality. Columbia is usually seen as being more prestigious because of the Ivy League tag. Ultimately, the choice is up to you, but you can't go wrong with either NYU or Columbia!

However, if you're looking at doing an LLM just to increase your chances of getting a job, it may, in my opinion, be better to choose CLS over NYU. However, as you might be aware, landing a job in the US as a foreign lawyer with an LLM is extremely, extremely tough.

As regards your first question, I haven't heard back from NYU regarding financial aid. I reckon that that communication will happen sometime around March 17-21.

Thanks for this. Awaiting the financial aid decision for now. That'll help me in making the choice.

One important question. If I received an e-mail informing me I have been awarded a general merit scholarship, does this mean I did npt get the Hauser one or?

I think so. I read it as if Hauser decisions are out. But I am not 100% certain.

About financial aid and enrollment deadline, I've just remembered I received this email: "We expect decisions will be released over the course of March."
