I applied at the end of February and got accepted mid-March. My stats are in my profile.

Congrats! I applied to the part-time program several weeks ago, I'm awaiting a reply. Stats: Top 50% of middle of the pack law school with a respected tax program. 4.1 GPA in 14 units of tax classes, also did a tax externship and worked for a tax law firm while in law school.

Hi everyone, first time poster looking to get in on the conversation.
I am a domestic student that applied for the Tax LLM program. I was very late in the process however and did not go under review until March 15.
I read all of the posts in this thread and noticed that the past several weeks have been largely dominated by foreign applicants since NYU seems to have been focused on providing admission decisions to those individuals by the end of March.
Now that it is April though and it is likely that more decisions for domestic LLM students are going to be rolling out soon, I wanted to check in and ask a couple of questions.
I noticed that a few people posted in February that they were accepted into the domestic Tax LLM program. Congratulations to all of you! I did not notice any mentions of being offered a scholarship though. Did anyone that was accepted already receive a scholarship offer? Or does anyone have any insight into when scholarships offers are generally made for the domestic Tax LLM program?
Thanks for the help in advance, and I will make sure to do my part by posting any information/decision I receive!

Hey! I received a Tax Law Review Scholarship in mid-March. I was given a deadline for accepting of April 1.

Congratulations Trumps, that's awesome!
I'm guessing you don't happen to have any insight into whether the other Tax Law Review scholarships have been issued do you? I doubt it, but I thought perhaps they sent out an e-mail to all of y'all in order to form some type of group.

Hey TaxGuy17
Not precisely, but they did tell me that they wanted a response from everyone by April 1. So presumably the Tax Law Review Scholarships are spoken for. I don't know what other types of scholarships they give out for the domestic tax LLM program and so can't speak to those. On a related note, good luck too you! If you make it to New York and need a roommate let me know!!

I definitely will Trumps. Thanks for all of the information. I'm kicking myself for not applying sooner and at least giving myself a shot at scholarships. Perhaps the only thing I can hope for is that someone offered a scholarship decided to defer for a year!

So, Dean's Award got me half-tuition off. Generous, but still can't afford attendance.
Has anyone tried bargaining with NYU (or other universities for that matter) in order to recieve better terms? Is there any way to increase the the amount of the scholarship initially offered?
Thanks.

I tried to bargain (but am very bad at it) and was told that NYU has a policy of not chaning what they have offered you...

Schools seemed like they were more willing to negotiate scholarships for JD programs than they are for LLM programs.

Hey everyone. I was admitted into the domestic Tax LLM program today. It was a very exciting e-mail to receive!
I went complete on March 15 and was offered admission today, April 14.
Question for other people who were already admitted. I know that any scholarship offers don't get sent with the offer of admission, but how much later did you receive the scholarship offer? Was it after the date that you had to submit a seat deposit?
Thanks for the help.

Congratulations!
Could you share the deadline for acceptance/deposit? Thanks, and congrats again.

Thanks! I'm very excited. NYU only gave me 12 days to respond, so I have to submit the seat deposit by April 26.
I also found out that I got into Georgetown and was offered a half-tuition Graduate Tax Scholars scholarship, and I have to accept that by May 2. I'm trying to determine when I may hear from NYU in regard to scholarships, but I'm fearing that it won't be before then.

Not sure if anyone else is still waiting to hear from the domestic tax llm program, but just a few words of encouragement.
I applied after the deadlines due to some personal circumstances, submitted applications to NYU, GULC, and NU on 04/20. To my surprise, NYU and GULC were still willing to review my applications.
My applications went complete on 04/22 for NYU and NU, and 04/27 for GULC due to registrar's certificate.
I was accepted to all three on 04/29. Emails came in within an hour of each other actually. All of them asked for a response by 05/13.
So if you are still waiting, don't give up hope yet. If you haven't apply, ask if the schools are willing to consider late applications and send them in ASAP.
I'm still debating between NYU and GULC at this point, but slightly leaning towards NYU.
