NYU LL.M 2013/2014

edit

I am in the same situation. I got everything in place, except for the mailings which is empty. I think that this means bad news, or that we won't get a decision anytime soon (not this week for sure) :-( good luck anyways.

At least I'm not alone! Fingers crossed to all of us waiting! List or no list! LOL!

I am still waiting too, traditional llm, req list not moving anywhere, no matter how many times I look....:) I should try something new :)
I still think a few more days of waiting is fine, we still have hope!
good luck to all waiting and congrats to the ones who got admitted!

If NYU's planning on sending the rest of the decisions in the upcoming 6 working days, it means we still have 6 full days of hope (+ a nice relaxing weekend). I wish you all peace. Stress is bad for the skin ;)

(I sent in my application on the last minute so my decision won't come early. But I'll keep you posted...)

Hey guys. If it is of any help, I got admitted to NYU last night. Though the email didn't specify for which prog, traditional LLM or NYU@NUS.

I have been complete and under review since 11/17/2012. No word yet, but I believe if I have not been admitted yet, even though so many people have received admissions, then I will not get in. All hopes are gone, from my part.

Mine didn't specify that either, however my app status says its corporations. Besides I believe those admitted to nyu@nus have received different email that specifically says nyu@nus.

I think my status date was still 1/2/2013.

By the way, with the approuval of Tetr4, I created a FB group in order to exchange informations between admitted ITP students.

Here is the link : http://m.facebook.com/groups/420800514679979?ref=bookmark&refid=60
And here is the name : NYU - LLM International Taxation (2013/2014)

Good luck for those waiting for an admission notification !!

Thank U, just one more question, do you remember which was your current status date? Mine is March 1st, 2013, but I haven't gotten news... Maybe they are waiting to notify me with the rejected ones haha.

Do you really think that they will still sending admission's emails next week? Seriously? do you think that we still have a chance?

Of course! Someone posted earlier a reply from the Admissions Director, who said that they're trying to send out everything before next Friday. Which means it could even take longer.

Let's just visualize how their office would operate. The juries are in session; they hand out decisions 1 by 1 to the office. I'd say for every single decision the assistants will have to
1- prepare an email notification
2- prepare online interface at the admitted students page
3- prepare the mail package
4- double/triple check everything cos nothing can go wrong for our nerves' sake! :P
--->The whole process can take some time, so it can't be done within a week... given that how many are applying in total? 2000 people at least from all over the world?

Now if an application is definitely admissible, and potentially qualify for a scholarship, if i were the jury i'd set that aside and wait a bit to look at the rest of the applications in order to compare. So it's not necessarily bad news if the decision comes out late. It could possibly be the contrary.

So let's keep the faith and relax. Hey it's Friday!

(I was a little bored reading cartel judgments...)

I actually agree with that. If I were a jury I would make a scholarship decision after I've assessed all applications. It makes sense. But arent they supposed to have already made a decision though? And that we're currently in the "sending emails" phase?

Possible. But my gut feeling tells me it's being done right now. If we gather all our mysterious theories together, the process would probably look like this.
1) they check out the files -> that's when the requirement list goes blank and are handed to the jury
2) the jury deliberate (27-48 hours)
3) decision is out; 1 assistant prepares the online interface, that's why some people can already log in before they received anything
4) the admissions director has to be there to send the email himself. this could take some time if he's not around all the time. (he must have other things to do as well!)

I'm a Sherlock fan. (I also study a***** and I think my decision will be next Wednesday-Thursday although I don't mind being proven wrong.)

Thank you. I checked my NYU application status a couple of times. Mine didn't go blank. Or at least I didn't see it go blank. Last time I checked was yesterday though..
