Unfortunately, I have not heard anything yet.
I think that the last deadline for the news on admissions to both of the schools will be on the first week of April (taking into account the time required for the mail to be delivered).
These are actually the last two schools from which I still have not heard anything. I must admit that it makes me pretty nervous, as they are also my top choice schools.

As roommate of to tax or not to tax I must tell you that you are now under the obligation to let him know where you are admitted as he just decided that he will condition his decision on yours..

me neither and also pretty nervous - deadline for Columbia is April 1, should I askan extension (esp. considering that I still haven't received Columbia's hard copy - so if NYU and HLS only rely on the Belgian post it may last for one month ....

Too bad...
I agree with Brus, the real problem is: will they use ordinary postal system???? It seems so...

Well, Shakespeare admirer and his roommate, I have no idea why you want to base your decision on mine, but at the moment I am planning to go to Columbia.
Bruselas,
How did you find out about April 1? Do you know whether Columbia requires any deposit payment or anything else?
My e-mail from Columbia was really short so I do not know anything about their requirements. Anyway, thank you for telling me. Otherwise, it would be really âgreatâ if I received the letter on April 2 and would miss the deadline. Donât I just love the Russian post system!
Also, have you made a decision on the NYU/Columbia choice, just in case. I think that I will have a big problem with that.

Hey I finally found a soulmate!!!
I found out about the deadline by faxing - but totally lost about NYU v. Columbia - have you applied for corporations ? - there are pro's and cons for both .... and I even know one guy (corporate lawyer) rcurrently at Columbia whos's kind of regretting that he finally chose Columbia because of NYU's better location .....

I believe you should ask to Columbia to postpone the deadline; some collegues of mine did it; I dunno whether by mail or phone.

Breselus,
Most of the lawyers from my company attended NYU LL.M Program. All of them are really positive about it and especially about the location and all of the new technology that NYU uses.
Columbia has probably the worst location in New York (near Harlem), but on the other hand, it has a higher rank in USNews.Com and LL.M programs rankings and is considered to have a really great brand name (almost like HLS).
So it is Downtown v. Harlem and Technology v. Brand (Reputation). Donât know what to do? Although I am still not admitted to NYU.
What is the deposit amount for Columbia?

Message I let on another forum
"Dear all,
I've just discovered this forum. Very interesting.
I am Belgian too, working in Brussels.
I have been admitted to Columbia (where I secured my place by paying for the deposit since my deadline was March 15), Michigan and UPenn. Still waiting for HLS and NYU. Unfortunately, I only received BAEF a honorary fellowship. I would be pleased to hear again from you on this forum".
My current feeling about Columbia where I am considering more and more to go : a very great name, not only in law but also in business (see the last MBA ranking from FT) and in international relations, and a smaller LL.M. class than NYU.

I agree that a university's location in the same city is the most important factor when considering which one you will devote your time, money, opportunity cost, and your future career plans for the next 12 months.
