NYU Domestic Tax LLM

I am posting a reply because I have benefited so much from this website. Completed application around the April 1 deadline. Got an email that my application was complete April 15. Got admission email a few hours after (i.e., also on April 15).

My deadline to accept is May 3. I am inclined to go.

It seems that very few people have been rejected from NYU so far. I was starting to get my hopes up because I figured no word means I am on the bubble, but I am starting to wonder if NYU keeps applications in the mix in case a massive amount of individuals decide not to attend.

Has anyone heard anything recently?

I thought I'd go ahead and start the weekly check-up.

Any news? I still haven't heard one way or the other.

Hi everyone

I was accepted to Georgetown a couple of weeks and I am still waiting to hear from NYU. I hadn't heard anything from NYU since I sent in my most recent transcript back in January. I called them last week and they said my application was still under review. They said final decisions are in mid-June. Has anyone heard anything in the last couple of weeks?

Congrats on the acceptance at Georgetown. That's pretty much what I was told by NYU as well. For now, I'm just paying my deposits at Georgetown and planning to make the final decision once I hear from NYU (and Florida).

This has been discussed in other threads, but what could be the repercussions of accepting and paying the deposit at Georgetown then turning around and going to NYU (or in your case UF)? I am going to the admissions office at my school and see what they have to say.

As far as I know, there shouldn't be any repercussions of paying a deposit then accepting at another school at a later date (aside from losing the non-refundable deposit). I think that's part of the rationale behind a waiting list, in case that sort of thing happens.

I think it would be different if accepting a scholarship, or enterting into an agreement to withdraw applications from other schools, but that isn't my situation.

I know people have been checking this page and waiting for any type of news, so I figured I would register a name and give an update.

I just got a wait-list letter from NYU. It said that the class spots were filled and they would offer only if someone dropped.

I have until May 14 to say whether I want to remain on the list. If someone withdraws, they will notify people in August.

There is a big long paragraph about how they would analogize being on a wait-list to "flying on standby"

I heard rent in DC is pretty high. Arlington is supposed to be nice, a quick ride on the metro, and have reasonable rental prices. Anybody know anything about this? Interest in a roommate?

I am posting because, like everyone else, I have benefited very much from this site. Here is my deal...

I've already been admitted to GT and UF. I applied to NYU back in the fall. My application went complete around mid-November. I received a request for "Fall Grades" back in December. I submitted my fall grades over 6 weeks ago...and still NO WORD from NYU.

I have called them and have recieved the noncommital "decisions will be emailed as they are made". At this point I am getting extremely frusterated and a little concerned.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

thanks and good luck.

I don't know what the rest of you are planning to do, but I'm going to share my plans.

I'm going to proceed as if I'm going to Georgetown, but remain on the NYU waiting list. If I'm admitted off the waitlist at NYU before my wife finds a job in DC, or before we find a great place to live and sign a lease, I'll accept at NYU.

If either of those things happen, I'm calling NYU to take my name off the list and fully commiting to Georgetown.

I'm pretty much going to do the same thing. I've already sent my tuition deposit to GT, but I am going to remain on the waiting list for NYU.

Maybe we'll take some class together taxman.
