NW interview

Hi all,
Did anyone request an interview with Northwestern or has anyone heard about such experience? According to NW website, such an interview, being optional, will not affect the application result, and it's designed to find more about the applicant's maturity, English proficiency and motivation. I am not sure if I should request one, and am curious who will be interviewing the applicant and what will be discussed. Any idea will be much appreciated!!

Dear Karrie

As you correctly stated, this is an opportunity for the people at the NW admissions office to get to know you better. They do not examine you on anything , and it is not an "interview" in the "job interview" meaning. You should only consider doing it if you trully think it may assist you (i.e if your english is good enough, if you are confident that you are going to make a good impression over the phone, etc). Otherwise, if you think that you are going to panic, mumble, etc it's better to avoid it. In my personal experience it does not count towards admission. I applied to the Northwestern LL.M/Kellogg last year, did not do the telephone interview and still I got admitted. So relax and do as you think best.

Hi guys!

I had the interview in NW a month ago in Chicago as I was there for a business trip. It was really good to get to know the admission people. They are very friendly and the interview was more like a chat! The girl asked me basic questions: Why I wanted to ho to NW? Tell her my qualities? What my friends would say about me? The last book I read? and things like that...
I think it is worth it!
Best to you

It is true....mostly, NU uses current JD student to do the interview. So the questions are pretty friendly and not complicated.
